    @CoachFrenchy
Where do I send site improvement suggestions?
I am also trying to help someone ( Wiz from HB ) who is having trouble getting signed in here. Is there a HHS tech person for signup problems, etc?

    re: Arty vs. Demidov

    Time will tell.

Demidov will put up good numbers quickly, playing forward on a much better team.
Meanwhile, every mistake Arty makes might wind up in the back of the Hawk’s net.

If Arty reaches his potential, everything will be fine.
While he develops, it’s my plan to ignore analyst and fan noise.

    Only time will tell.

This site still has some cracks in it, posted a reply and it disappeared

I’ve totally stopped using the “reply” button.
No matter what, I highlight some or all of a post and use the “quote” button.

HE not worth more than Drycycle

For sure, I would rather have Drysocket than Kaprisov on my team.

But the reality is, Kaprisov has a uniquely high value specifically for the Wild.
They have been in cap hell for years from the Suter/Parise buyouts.
The last time they were able to draw top free agents was by massively overpaying Parise and Suter.
They are unlikely to win in any situation where he leaves the team.

“Damned if they do, damned if they don’t” might be the Wild situation right now.

so is this what Friedman means by “tampering”, offering him more than the allowed maximum annual salary (which is currently at 17.6)..?

I do not believe that is the correct max player contract for Kaprisov.
Max player salary is 20% of the cap (unless I missed a change to that rule?)
Kaprisov is already signed for this season.

Max salary for a player contract starting next season for Kaprisov (with salary cap over $100mm) will be slightly over $20mm.
Unless you sign/extend him *before* the ’26/27 cap is officially declared, then maybe this years cap ($95.5mm team / $19.1mm player) might apply?

Either way, if we are going down the tinfoil hat / tampering rabbit hole, “some nefarious team” could let him know that $20 is waiting.
Personally I doubt it, but hey, speculation is where we’re at right now.

    re: Kaprisov

New 32 Thoughts Podcast came out and Friedman is speculating that someone has tampered and whispered big money to his people.
    He thought maybe 7 x 18 or 7 x 20.
What he did *not* mention (my own speculation) is that it could be a no-tax State whispering 7 x 16.
Friedman mentioned that he did not think Kaprisov was looking for a shorter deal like the McDavid speculation. (he said he might be wrong about that though)
Kaprisov’s injury history was brought up as being another factor in trying to navigate the whole process for both sides.

    RAMPANT SPECULATION BABY !

WE ARE SO BACK, LETS GO !

I wouldn’t get my hopes up that he’ll wind up in Chicago.

    Neither will I.

If all three goalies, four if you count Commesso are still around at the start of the season I see a revolving IR door until KD unloads Soderblom or Brossoit.

    Commesso is their AHL goalie.
If the other 3 are all healthy, then (as Frenchy mentioned) they can just roster all 3 while they figure it out.

    13F
    7D
    3G

It’s unusual, but they would make the cap floor with room to spare. (Weber contract goes on IR in this scenario)

Eklund was right lol. He’s totally coming to Chicago next year!

    re: Laurent Brossoit

Other than idle speculation about trading him, has anyone read *any actual info*
about his health status going into training camp?

This info has been locked down forever, it seems.

why don’t you write about a topic you want to discuss?

    I agree w/ Boilermaker.
As people get more familiar with the comment section quirks, the more activity there will be.
Helping newer members figure it out will help increase the hockey content.

Ok dreamers, time to start the countdown to July 1st:

    Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli 3h
Sources say #mnwild superstar Kirill Kaprizov’s camp turned down an extension offer believed to be 8-years, $128 million
in a meeting on Tuesday in Minnesota that would have made him the highest-paid player in #NHL history in both AAV ($16 million) and total dollars.

Seems to be happening to me. Perhaps there’s a lag?

You have to highlight the text you want to quote, even if you want to quote the entire post.

Agree it’s even more rare and risky with a goalie.
I believe they bought 5 years of free agency, so that is a factor in the price tag.

That is a lot of money for 71 games played on a goalie.

Or, I guess genius, if it works out and he continues to get better.

I think there will be more of these signings with the cap increase.
Pay for future production, avoid problem negotiations down the road, wipe out offer sheet potential.
Chicago did this recently w/ Nazar.

Awesome if you’re right, ruinous if you pay the wrong youngster(s).
