A game like this against the AVS is why I wasn’t impressed with Frondell’s hot start.

    Yeah, makes me nervous tbh.
He has good size, hopefully he will be okay getting dirty around the net.

No wonder you were fired in Detroit!

Do you think it’s his call?
Other than Q, I’m not sure any Hawks head coach in recent memory has had any real power.

I’ve said all season that Arty would benefit from a bit of time in RFD.
I’ve started wondering the same about Rinzel.

    Thanks Frenchy.
    I like the “Notes” section.
Good info / trivia in there.

    Powers:

“In 10:43 of Bedard and MacKinnon sharing the ice at five-on-five, the Blackhawks had a 15-13 edge in shot attempts,
7-4 in shots on goal, 7-6 in scoring chances and 2-0 in high-danger chances.”
    Can’t be ashamed of that.

I don’t want the Hawks to be speaking of moral victories.
But it’s okay if we do it.

The gap between the Colorado Avalanche and second place in the NHL standings is the same as between second place and 25th.

An effort to be proud of tonight.
With the empty net they showed a lot of fight, and dare I say, poise?

They were simply beaten by a superior force.
    Good job, young Blackhawks.

Very nice recovery through 14 minutes of 3rd period action.
Some nice forechecking and O-zone time.

If so, that’s a big improvement over a lot of other 2nd periods.

My bad. They were not “hanging in there” they got beat bad in every metric.
Gotta show some bounce back in the 3rd.

    Dang it.
Rare mis-play by Knight ends up burning him.

I’ll be ok with the game cuz of that 1st.

Just showed up, thanks for the 1st period recap.
Sounds like they’ve been “hanging in there” in the 2nd. If so, that’s a big improvement over a lot of other 2nd periods.

    Glad to see Dickinson back.
This will be one of the toughest tests of the season so far.
Win or lose, they have to play 60 minutes and try to show they at least belong on the ice with the Avs.

A win? Icing on the cake.

hockey/sport is an escape for the majority of fans

    This is true.

A long time ago, I learned to be conscious of the fact that this is a pastime, something to enjoy.
I never became a fair weather fan or bandwagon jumper.
However, I stopped habitually making myself miserable by watching something that irritated me.
I turned off games many times these past 2 seasons when they were making me angry instead of happy.

However, there’s more to this issue: constantly, excessively airing one’s grievances on a public forum like this
makes it more difficult for others to enjoy what is supposed to be an escape.
I should not have to apologize for “venting” about what frustrates me, any more than anyone else.
I have just as much right to get frustrated by the ref complaints, as others do to get frustrated by the refs.
