sure why not. sign Giroux to take faceoffs and play wing like he was doing on OTT.
I think that might work, but dont you hate it cause Giroux is a small player?
Maybe they could add a bigger player with them. Or just use a guy like Anderson with them, maybe?

@ Mash : I would expect Tavares to go to a contender or another market than montreal. Its his last big contract as well.
Claude Giroux I could see as a stop gap. 2 years kind of deal.
Hopefully he can still play as a centre. In a top 6 role.

@ Pat : I did not say anything about trading down. I think both teams would be after a young player ready to play in the NHL. Think Slaf or Caufield.
Would I do that trade? I dont know, but I could see both chicago or Utah seeking that kind of deal. Simon the snake Boiverts seems to really like Desnoyers and the problem at the centre position would be solve for years. Its easier to find a winger than a centre on the market.
william karlsson is a name that came up a few times for a target as a 2nd C. Not sure how legit that is but that could be one of the best option out there.
