Participant-So the previous infos is not right, if the just retires before the end of his deal, unless Im missing something
Correct, 35+ contracts stay on the books even if they retire

ParticipantShould the NHL step in and review the contract?
Marchand’s deal is legal under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, but critics argue it undermines the cap system’s fairness. At 37 years old, Marchand would need to maintain NHL-level performance into his 40s to fulfill the contract’s full duration—a feat accomplished by only a handful of forwards in league history. As Alter points out, if Marchand retires or is placed on long-term injured reserve in the latter years of the contract, the Panthers would avoid cap penalties while reaping the benefits of a lower cap hit in the earlier seasons. This loophole—though technically allowed—has drawn renewed concern about cap integrity.
They let it happen, kovalchuks contact got revoked, and then they let teams do what they wanted. Best to just stop it moving forward instead of retroactively changing contacts

ParticipantYou mean what Vegas and Tampa did?
I was talking about the deal of Marchand and a few of their key players, but the Marchand deal is the one that come to mind. The cap is a total joke when a team does something like that. But the hockey experts on TV were praising that like it was so smart and magical.
It is clear cap circumvention and I was pretty sure the NHL already had some rules on this. I dont feel this is something knew at all.
We are coming back to the days when Hossa became allergic to his hockey equipment.
Their GM at the time should have been beaten with a shovel when it came up with that crap.
I was talking about ltiring guys. Tb, abs, vgk and the floridacats all have used it. Oddly enough, the last four teams to win a cup.
I don’t care about a marchand type contract because that could come back and bite them

ParticipantToo bad the Panthers already found another way to cheat anyway
It only became an issue when the oilers did it

Participantlet’s switch to ESPN, yahoo hates me.
Ah yes, ESPN who needs to remove GameDay features because the live tracking would cause freezing and miscalculations

ParticipantIn the second draft, I drafted bpa or highest ranked player needed and yahoo gave me an a+. However, they said drafting flowers, ranked 52nd, at 54 was a bad pick
mr.peanut
ParticipantB-. apparently drafting 2 QBs early is frowned upon.
Their AI bases on their rankings and taking the bpa when you draft. Why the manager-less team has one of the best grades
mr.peanut
ParticipantThey said my best pick was Mark Andrews
mr.peanut
Participantit’s not cool that you guys conspired against me like this.
I’m waiting for yahoo to tell me that their projected #1 pick was a bad pick
mr.peanut

ParticipantIn France since August 1st. Great weather and people are nice. Managing the social climate aint so bad but I can see it becoming an issue down the road if I stay in the city…I won’t. Beach is like 15 away and it’s a great beach.
Go Habs go
Glad you’re enjoying it. Could you elaborate on the social stuff?
