If the Leafs are eliminated, then I am backing McJesus. It gives me no joy, but I cannot support a US-based team not named Tampa at this time.
Matthews better be hurt. I know Florida’s centers are good, but not good enough to completely shut down a 100% healthy and determined Matthews.
So, either he’s playing through an injury that is limiting him significantly, or the guy just doesn’t have that extra gear that is required in the postseason. Florida also shut down Ducherov, but he was playing hurt. Similar situation. You might shut him down for a game or two, but not for an entire series if he’s healthy.
I hope the management comes clean on his injury status in the offseason. I think the fans are owed an explanation.
It looks bad, but this series isn’t over yet. Leafs could still win this and I will root for them until the end, win or lose.
If they win the next two and pull this off, then we’ll look back on these doomer comments and laugh about it.
If they lose this series, then you gotta do a partial rebuild at the least – wholesale changes must be made. They changed the GM, they changed the coach, they changed the captain, what next?
If this core bungles this last chance to step up, then you gotta break them up. You don’t reward vanishing acts with fat raises and new contracts.

I can’t imagine how the guy’s day must go with everything everywhere being politics all the time. Waitress took too long to bring your food? Politics. Guy pissed you off in traffic? Politics. Your hockey team lost a game? Politics. Jesus Christ. What a shitty way to walk through life. Carrying around a big heavy sack full of perceived grievances everywhere you go. Then getting defensive and playing the victim when you get called out on your bullshit. I regret defending this douche when half of the HB forum was calling for him to be banned. He’s completely incorrigible and is an agent of chaos. He’s like Horseman War showing up in your forums – nothing good will follow.
I would fully hope and expect this thread to be locked down, sanitized, and warnings/bans handed out. We’ll see.
