Right now, this is the best team that they’ve had in over 20 years. Next year, they’ll probably step back somewhat. The Defense will be the same, as will the goaltenders, but Patches will probably retire and Marner will move on because he’ll want too much. JT will be another year older and he’ll need a new contract, as will Knies. Not enough money to go around. They could retool by letting Marner and Rielly go, picking up assets via free agency, but the chemistry will change. Now is the time to take your shot at the Stanley Cup. Just score 1 more than Florida, tomorrow night and it opens up possibilities. Just know, only 6 teams are left that can win the Cup. In a couple of days, it’s down to 4.

Looking at game 7, know that we can eliminate the Stanly Cup Champions, on home ice. It’s why Berube pushed them so hard during the last week of the schedule. Getting home ice and having the ability to have last change is crucial. Keefe never understood this and rested players, down the stretch. It’s why we ended up with a game 7 in Boston last season. If we prevail, it will be a major step forward. To play Carolina with Home Ice would be an opportunity to make it to the finals. I’ll go out on a limb here and say Dallas will defeat Winnipeg and if so, the Leafs have Home Ice for the rest of the playoffs. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but the games will be closer and small variances like penalty killing and powerplays will become magnified. Just score one more goal than Florida, tomorrow night, and it’ll be go time!

Time to bring the blue Karma on Sunday. I wonder if all of those people who burned their jersey’s are having second thoughts?

I’m not missing the Buzz. Haven’t gone there in 4 days. This is now home for Leafs Nation. Time to get out the word.

Yes, I’d take game 7 having Home Ice, if looking at it at the start of the series. Florida are the Champions and you know that they’ll come out on fire, in Game 7. If we are tied after 1, there’s a distinct possibility that we can take this series. I’m guessing that Florida is hiding a lot of injuries to key players too. Barkov seems to be a little banged up and some of their bottom 6 seem a bit beat up too.

Time for Tavares, Nylander or another top-six forward to win a game. Or…*gasp* a bottom-six player score a goal.

Or a defenseman. Rielly? Wake up time.

Somebody new has to step up in Game 7.

Woll already stole a game, can’t expect him to pitch another SO.

I feel that our unseen hero might be Laughton. He’s been around the puck and has played doggedly throughout the playoffs. He hasn’t been rewarded, so the hockey Gods may grant the opportunity to do the unthinkable and dispatch Florida in game 7.

OK, now I have to do it. I’ve not done it for years, but the ’67 Jersey is coming out of the closet. Going to the Akwesasne Casino and Resort for the long weekend. The Jersey’s going with me and I’ll watch the game at the Sports Bar at the resort on Sunday night. Hoping for the almost impossible result. Let’s see if that does the trick. Anyone else going to do something out of the ordinary to get some Blue & White Karma building?

By the way, a great, unexpected effort by the boys tonight. I expected it to be close, but see the usual happen. A late goal and lose either in overtime or in the last minute. We get to cheer one more time. At least it’s at home.

I’m betting Marner walks, anyway. He plays, looks and talks like he’s done here. It just looked toxic last night.

We went all in on a core that is made up of the wrong people and 50% of which will likely be gone.

Massive organizational failure from the top down.

Marner will sigh the Johnny Gaudreau retirement contract. He’ll go to some backwater, banjo picking team that has hockey behind baseball, football, basketball and a myriad of college sports franchises. He can do his little performance and collect for the next 7 years. No pressure, no playoffs. He wants to be a performer, not a hockey player. Good riddance.

I’d rather have Nick Ehlers and Brock Boeser for the same money. They may not have the numbers, but they have some Jam.

I’m not waiting around to watch all of the pontificators after the game. It was self explanatory. Gutless stars, pure cowardice. They used to shoot people who were deserters. I’d rather just shoot pucks at them and break their gold chains around their necks. It’s over Friday. Pretty sure about this one.

Maple Leaf square is probably empty. Just empty cups, food wrappers and mud. Putrid.

Going for the touchdown. Any Marlies want to come up and play in game 6?

Waiting for the boos to rain down. I don’t know if the Leafs players read these blogs but I’ve only got one thing to say to them. You are a disgrace to the sweater.

Looking into the eyes of Woll and I just see dejection. I know that he would never do it, but I’d stand up in the dressing room and read them the riot act. Tell them the money that you make and you perform like this? 2 games in a row. Putrid, pukes.
