Participantah yes, a classic moment for sure loll
We need more players to be represented by Allan Walsh.
Not really for their benefit but for entertainment value.

Participanti thought that pulling oettinger was wrong and the way he did it was really unprofessional. i’m not sure he could have stopped either goal and his teammates didn’t exactly help either.
what he said after the game just made it worse.
i mean, he went to casey desmith in an elimiation game. i’m not even sure i can trust him after that.
If Oettinger had let in two softies to begin the game, it could have been….justified?
The Oilers scored on two “grade A” chances where the goalie wasn’t to blame.
And as you said, your backup isn’t some great older goalie or a prime prospect that could surprise, HE’S FUCKING CASEY DeSmith who hasn’t played a game in the past month and a half!
I was never a fan of Deboer, it’s not the first time he messes up with his goaltenders. Remember the Fleury fiasco in Vegas?

ParticipantI wonder if the firing had anything to do with him throwing Oettinger under the bus lol…
also the Booins hiring Marco Sturm sounds like a rather curious move… oh well, (frank) them.
I don’t know if it’s because of “just” the Oettinger thing but it certainly was part of the decision. What an absolutely stupid decision and his reaction afterwards doubling down on it (and on his star goaltender) was “getting fired” worthy.
The Bruins are gonna have a rough time for a while. Let us all enjoy it!

ParticipantSigh – and sadly I see no delete button for posts so sorry for the double / triple post!
Nope. We are now stuck with double AI generated Marner on the Sharks forever!

ParticipantHow the fuck do you post an image in here? lol
You click on the “IMG” option and then copy/paste your image URL into the popup.

Participantisn’t it weird how we’re like little kids again when we get something like that? have fun with it!
I mean, it will always be a fraction of what it was like when we were actually kids but yeah, it’s always fun to get that new console 🙂

Participantcanada, wake up.
I won’t lie, it was hard getting otu of bed after playing Zelda: Tears of the kingdom in 4k on my brand new Nintendo Switch 2 until 3 AM.

ParticipantI’m not crying, you’re crying
A touching moment for sure. I think the NHL dumping the classic award ceremony for these more personnal announcements is a huge win.

ParticipantI have a deep depp loathing of cherry pickers. I would disown him
Sounds like the right thing to do, I agree.

Participanthe just stayed there even when the play was on the other side.
Since there are no offsides in deck hockey, it’s not the worst strategy in the world. haha
Scabeh
ParticipantI can only imagine how a large swath of Leafs fans would react to that. The Marner hate would be next level.
I doubt it happens. Even from Carolina’s standpoint, what they need to be better than the Panthers isn’t Marner.
If I had a 2$ to bet on a destination, it would be the Kings. They’ve been looking to add some scoring, they’ll have the cap space and Marner would probably be a big help for Byfield to take the next step and become their bondafide star centre.

ParticipantYeah I did.
Agressive on the forecheck, swarm the kid with the ball with one D staying back.
They all got on board except Arhtur who often ran in the wrong direction and pokechecked his own teamates multiple times
Is that your son?
Or you’re name dropping some random kid that pissed you off. xD

ParticipantIt suggests that Marner outperformed his $10.9m contract by providing $12m in value. Since I think ALL of Dom’s valuations are too high by around 15%, I think Marner probably was providing closer to $10m in value – which feels about right, because those who favour him have no problem with him getting north of $12.5m and those who don’t like him think that $8m is about right.
I’ve never been a fan of Dom’s model and I think you’re right about him over/under evaluating players by a margin.
If you only consider regular season success, I think Marner was paid close to what he brought to the table. Tavares was clearly overpaid but still produced enough to be considered a success as far as UFA signing goes.
It truly is the playoffs results that make these numbers don’t work as you cannot pay these salaries to player and never see them take over a game and give you a chance to win it all. The only player that did it on the Leafs was Nylander but it was also followed by disappearing acts at other times…. where a show of force from Matthews or Marner would have made the difference, probably.

ParticipantMy boy just started deck hockey, had to coach the last game because the coach didn’t show up.
We won 8-3 and my boy scored a goal.
Safe to say i’m the greatest coach ever.
Did you ask them to play zone defense?
Scabeh
ParticipantYou must have alot of greek and italians on your team
Just one italian. xD
