Participantno one cares if your a fan of the trade. the mind set on this trade seems to be you roll the dice on a 24 year old,, with skill that is needed, who needs a change scenary to possibly get back to the 60 point plyer he once was. There are risks, ones worth taking. there is no long term commitment. now if they give him an 8 year ext then you can piss and moan all you want.
This is the type of move they should be doing. finding undervalued assets for minimal cost.
Reinhart only broke 60 points once before being traded to Florida. I bet people would have bitched if we had traded for him back then

ParticipantYou would think. I would say it will be interesting who takes who now. Not sure if I would take Porter over Hagens or Frondel though.
You take the BPA

ParticipantIf Briere is circling back to old trade rumors, looking forward to see the return for Bowen Byram. Got to think BUF would be looking to acquire players already on an NHL roster.
If Shabonov is coming to Philly, you’d have to think 1 of our wingers is on the way out.

ParticipantAfter the Zegras acquisition, if Martone is available @ 6, I have a hard time justifying taking O’Brien over him because of organizational depth issues at center. Flyers are missing a power forward and Martone fits that bill.
Yea that Zegras trade gives us A LOT more flexibility to take the BPA regardless of position

ParticipantFor the price it’s well worth taking a shot on Zegras. If he can stay healthy this is a big plus.
This has to absolutely help the power play.
On the downside if this trade works the flyers may be just outside looking in on the lottery next year.
You get the potential with Zegras and if he works out you won’t need that lottery pick. If he fizzles you get that lottery pick 😀

Participantabsolute steal of a trade even if he doesn’t pan out

ParticipantThe Anaheim Ducks of Philadelphia. Lets get MacTavish now too

Participanteven if it doesn’t it was a swing you take al day, as they gave up nothing. They can walk away from zegras if it don’t work out. nothing to complain about on this trade
for real this is a buy low low risk/high reward situation

ParticipantWhen you don’t draft elite players of your own, you’re left with other teams’ damaged goods.
Hope the Zegras experiment turns out better than Drysdale has…
What are you talking about Drysdale is young and has shown a lot? Zegras gets out of that dump in Anaheim and can be handled properly now.

Participantdanny is the hardest working gm in all of sports. he will do something.
not howie roseman?

ParticipantI would love York at 6 mil per year long term. That gives us a lot of flexibility as the team gets better. Any more and bridge him and make him prove it

ParticipantThis is a steal of a contract

Participantfor a guy that supposedly was “smart” man was he dumb

ParticipantThis morning I met with Bill Armstrong and I will be formally requesting a trade from Utah. I am thankful for the opportunity but I no longer have confidence in the organization’s future. Please respect my decision at this time.

It was an unverified tweet. It’s probably just bs.

ParticipantFlyers need fresh blood for coaching. It’s not like he’s a terrible person.
