ParticipantWas at the game, man if Tippett could finish he’d probably already have like 40 on the season. He gets so many chances.
Tocchet is a great defensive coach. We shut down Celebrini pretty well.
We really need a talented center. No offense to Cates but he’s useless on the PP. Great as a 3rd line center.
York is so underrated.-

ParticipantBrink for Jiricek. Wow.
Absolute steal. Big 22 YO RHD with Top 4 potential for a small .5 PPG depth winger who was odd man out anyway. If they don’t do anything else, I’m satisfied.
The only way to look at this is all Bobby Brink was worth is a reclamation project? A kid whose only attribute is his size as he can’t skate and is a very low hockey IQ player.
Granted, Brink is no superstar, but being as kind as I possibly can be, this is a very underwhelming return.
The return for Brink was fine. He had no future here. It was one of Brink or Tippett that had to go ASAP.

It was not a steal but the right deal to be made. Jiricek is a project like how Drysdale was. Drysdale has turned out to be a great dman though.

<p data-userway-font-size=”12″ style=”font-size: 15px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s4-bigger-text-styled=”true”>With the cap going up, there’s no such thing as a bad contract… or so I’ve been told.
we should have left him with the option to be traded if the season went south

Not sure how Briere is going to resolve this glut at wing, but if the game plan is to be a puck possession team, going to need wingers who can constantly win along the boards and protect the puck. Grebenkin and Foerster are the two best options. Maybe Grebenkin gets more then 11 shifts if the team stops taking dumb penalties, just need to find a way to get him more shifts.
Tippett needs to go. Maybe he needs to play with a real center but the guy just skates and isn’t doing much else

Participant<p data-userway-font-size=”12″ style=”transition: all; font-size: 15px !important;” data-userway-s4-bigger-text-styled=”true”>I agree. Both the Sharks and Flyers are working with in the system the way it’s currently constructed. As well pretty sure the contract for Ellis was fully insured…so it’s not like SJ would actually have to pay him any $….its about allowing that franchise to stay above the bottom of the salary cap with out actually spending actual dollars…. For the Flyers it’s clearing space and allowing them to stay away from using LTIR…while maintaining the flexibility.
for the sharks it’s about opening up room for dickinson

ParticipantI’m not sure why Adam Ginning jumped into the neutral zone to receive a breakout pass from Michov or why Jamie Drysdale ended up on the wrong side of the puck, too.
Ginning and Grans have looked bad despite what the radio guys were saying yesterday.
