ParticipantBriere tried, but we still need a quality Center. Will they try Zegras at center again or possibly give Luchanko a chance? Hopefully they find somebody to run the PP? This team made it to the playoffs with the worst PP in the league. Just imagine how far they could go with a decent PP?

ParticipantWe all love G, but his time in Philly is over.

ParticipantI know it’s day #1 of Free Agency, but not impressed at all so far. Briere HAD to sign Foerster and Vladar, so he doesn’t get a pat on the back for doing something he was supposed to do. We have so many wingers, why sign Accairi and Ashton-Reese? They will barely make it to the 3rd line. Hopefully Brier finds a quality Center without overpaying? Very glad that Nurse didn’t sign with Philly. Let’s see what Danny’s next moves will be?

ParticipantKeep Martone and Foerster. It would suck to lose Michkov, but that’s what it might take to get this trade moving. Michkov is young and still getting used to the NHL and he seemed overwhelmed in his limited exposure to the Playoffs. Let’s see what moves Briere can up with this summer?

ParticipantSoko may not be the 2nd coming of Chris Pronger, but it will be nice to have a big Dman that can be paired up with one of our smaller stick handling Dmen.
Thor
ParticipantNo need for Nurse and his big contract.

ParticipantGood trade by Briere. Ersson was given a chance, but except for the playoff push post Olympics, he was one of the worst goalies in the league. It was time to move on. Andrae could handle the puck, but he was smurf on the ice . I will take Benoit with his size and physicality on defense. So far, so good by Briere. Keep up the good work.

ParticipantI really like Tippett and Foerster, so I hope they don’t go anywhere. Michkov is talented, but at 5’9″ and 172 lbs, he’s not built for the more physical playoffs as we saw him get pushed around and shutdown in this years playoffs. I would hope that Briere can get Larkin without trading Michkov, but we know that Detroit will be asking for a big return. I would give up Bump and picks in a heartbeat, but that won’t be enough. Hopefully Briere pulls a rabbit out of his hat and lands Larkin without giving up too much?

ParticipantThe Powerplay would improve if they would actually shoot the puck, instead of passing it back and forth from the perimeter with nobody in front of the crease. It seemed like Risto, Tippett and TK were the only ones who were actually willing to shoot the puck. We won’t mention how often the Flyers would miss the entire net. The days of LeClair, Knuble, Hartnell or Simmonds in front of the net are long gone, but it was nice to see Martone go to the crease once he was called up. The Flyers worked hard to make it to the playoffs and win one round, but just imagine how good this team would be if they actually had a decent powerplay? Hopefully Yogi figures the PP out, but I’m not holding my breath.

ParticipantErsson had some of the worst goalie stats in the entire league. He had a nice post Olympics run, but you need a backup to be more consistent through the entire season. Briere pulled a rabbit out of his hat last summer by signing Vladar. Maybe he can do it again this year and find us a good back up on the cheap?
