There is no question that the Montreal Canadiens completed a successful season by exciting their fans with a surprise playoff appearance. Since bowing out of the second season after five games against the Washington Capitals, much of the social media discussion has centered on the one top six addition that could propel them further in the Spring of 2026. But the duo that runs the hockey department sees the situation differently.
In the year-end media availability, Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes spoke to the media to reflect on the 2024-25 campaign` and to share their thoughts on the challenges that remain for them to solve, beginning this summer. While pleased with the progress of the rebuild, management has no plans to veer away from their plan.
