Mammoth Schedule and Key Dates to Remember

The Utah Mammoth and the rest of the NHL released the entire 2026-27 season schedule on Thursday.

Utah will begin the season at home on October 1st against the Chicago Blackhawks. The NHL is starting the season a bit earlier than normal to accommodate the new 84-game schedule. October 1st will be the third day of the NHL schedule.

The Mammoth catch a break with this schedule in the sense that they’ll face a Blackhawks team without Connor Bedard in the lineup. He is projected to be out until November after undergoing shoulder surgery in early July. Bedard has a goal and four points in four career games against Utah.

Mammoth Take an Early Road Trip

Right after the home opener, the Mammoth will immediately hit the road to tour the Eastern Conference. The road trip will run from October 3rd to 10th. They begin with the Columbus Blue Jackets (Oct. 3), followed by the New York Rangers (Oct. 4), the New Jersey Devils (Oct. 6), Boston Bruins (Oct. 8), and Buffalo Sabres (Oct. 10).

This will be the first time that Utah doesn’t play the New York Islanders as part of their New York-area trip. Newly signed Anders Lee, the former captain of the Islanders, will have to wait until December 15th to visit UBS Arena as a visitor.

Utah Hosts the Winter Classic

The Mammoth will host the Colorado Avalanche on New Year’s Eve at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The outdoor game will be accompanied by a host of festivities, including a concert at the Delta Center. It will have a start time of 4 pm. MST.

Renewing a Rivalry

After seeing the Vegas Golden Knights make it to the Stanley Cup Final, Mammoth fans can’t help but wonder how far their team could have made it. Had those two overtime games in their first-round series with Vegas gone the other way, who knows how far Utah could have gone.

There’s no way of knowing, but fans can bet that Mammoth players will have November 11th circled on their calendars. That is when they visit “The Fortress” in Las Vegas. The teams also meet on December 3rd in Las Vegas and April 3rd in Utah.
