The Montreal Canadiens have enjoyed a successful first half of the 2025-26 NHL season. The Canadiens record after 41 games — 22 wins, 13 losses, and 6 overtime losses for a total of 50 points — places them third in a competitive Atlantic Division. The Canadiens reached the 50 point milestone by 40 games, their fastest time to that mark since the 2016-17 season.
The Habs have officially hit the midpoint of the season, and this is usually the moment where the noise starts to fade and the truth starts to show itself. There have been enough games in the books now that trends matter, strengths are real, and weaknesses can’t really hide anymore.
This Week’s Show
In this week’s edition of the Canadiens Connection podcast, we’re taking a step back to assess where the Canadiens actually are right now. It’s not about where fans hoped they’d be in October, and not where we fear they might end up in April, but what this team has shown us through half a season. We evaluate what’s working, what still feels unresolved, and what the second half needs to look like if this season is going to mean something.
