Oilers Trade For Jarry After Win

The Edmonton Oilers have finally made a trade to rectify their ongoing goaltending issues. The Oilers have acquired Tristan Jarry and minor-league forward Samuel Poulin in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Heading to the Pens are goalie Stuart Skinner, defenceman Brett Kulak, and a 2029 second-round pick in the trade. Jarry has a 9-3-1 record this season with a .909 SV% and a 2.66 GAA.

Edmonton Oilers Victorious Against Red Wings

The Edmonton Oilers emerged victorious with a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday. Zach Hyman scored three goals and Connor McDavid picked up four assists.

Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm also registered a goal, and Leon Draisaitl had a pair of assists for Edmonton, who have won three of their last four games. The Oilers are now sitting in a Western Conference wild-card spot with a 14-11-6 record. Stuart Skinner made 27 saves to collect the win in net for the Oilers. It’s his 11th win of the season.

Edmonton’s win halted the Red Wings’ winning streak at three games. It was a good win for the Oilers against a good Red Wings team (17-12-3). Simon Edvinsson scored the only goal for Detroit, and Cam Talbot stopped 25 shots in the loss.

Oilers Stars Enjoying November

McDavid now has five multi-point games in his last six outings. He has 12 points in his last four games. After a slow start in October, McDavid has been on fire since the beginning of November. He has 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) in 19 games and 48 points on the season. Draisaitl, who has 40 points this season, has points in 12 of his last 13 games with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in that span.

The highlight of the night came when Edmonton took a 3-1 lead with 2:12 remaining in the second period. McDavid made an incredible no-look backhand pass through his legs in front of the net to Hyman, who potted his second of the game. Hyman added his hat-trick goal and fifth goal of the season into an empty net.

The Oilers’ next game will be on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are a wounded group right now. Saturday’s game in Toronto is the start of a five-game road trip for Edmonton.
