Detroit’s leaders are on the world stage

The Red Wings captain and both alternates are wearing their Nation’s colors as representatives for USA, Sweden and Germany. Larkin, Raymond and Seider are at the core of Detroit’s rebuild as they continue to work back toward being a Stanley Cup contender. Each player a first round pick, a homegrown prospect for Detroit.

Larkin, Detroit’s longest tenured veteran, is just 4 goals away from his fifth straight 30 goal season. Furthermore,  he is on pace to score a career high 37 goals. Dylan Larkin played 10:25 and recorded 1 shot and 1 penalty in the USA’s win over Latvia.  The Red Wings’ captain is incredibly proud to have been chosen by team USA.

Lucas Raymond made his debut for Sweden and  played 15:25 and registered 3 shots on net in the game against Italy. Raymond had an even rating, with no goals or assists. Raymond has been a huge part of Detroit’s success this season and leads the team with 60 points in 56 games.  Accordingly, he’s on pace for a career high 86 points, and 27 goals.

Finally, Moritz Seider is leading the blue line for team Germany.  During Germany’s 3-1 win over Denmark, Seider played 26:18, leading the Germans in ice time. Furthermore, he  recorded an assist and one shot on net.  Seider is no stranger to logging big minutes this season. He’s averaging 25:30 for Detroit, and has played over 27 minutes in several games this season.  Furthermore, Seider is on pace in the NHL for 57 points, a new career high.

Each of the three players are having career years, and the Red Wings have benefitted greatly. Thus, it’s no surprise to see them all with the opportunity to play in the 2026 Winter Olympics. Stay tuned for updates on each player’s performance throughout the Winter Games.

The Red Wings made an historic broadcast deal

The Detroit Red Wings have announced an historic new broadcast venture that will begin next season. The Red Wings will be moving on from Bally Sports and partnering with Major League Baseball. The move will see Ilitch Sports and Entertainment take control of the broadcasts, with hosting and support provided by the MLB.

Detroit is the first NHL team to partner with the MLB, who have created their own broadcasting platform. Accordingly, this creation of this platform allows baseball to cut ties with multiple regional broadcast partners. The past several seasons have seen a lot of turmoil in the sports world, as Bally’s declared bankruptcy back in 2023.

The Red Wings will officially move to the new service platform at the beginning of the 2026-2027 season. Updates will be made available as soon as they are announced.
