Sabres Need To Reverse Road Woes

As the last week of November begins the Buffalo Sabres need to start posting wins away from Key Bank Center.  In eight road contests so far this season the Sabres have just one victory and two overtime losses.  The Sabres sit tied for 14th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Traditionally, the American Thanksgiving holiday benchmark is a strong indicator of playoff positioning as the season moves on.

The Sabres find themselves three points out of the final wildcard berth. However, they trail five teams in the postseason chase.

With eight of their next ten games being played away from home, the Sabres will need to go on a road run to get back in the race.  Heading into this difficult stretch, the Sabres have won three of their last four matchups on a four game home stand that was just completed and four of their last five overall, including a 4-1 win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes to close the home stand on Sunday.

With an October and November slate filled with home dates, the team has recorded a solid mark of 8-4-2 on home ice.

What’s next for the Sabres

Buffalo will have to find a way to  gain points on the road going forward.  To this point they have only managed to collect four of a possible sixteen available points in away games. The Sabres have been plagued with significant injuries and Illness since the 2025-26 schedule began.

Now that top forwards Zach Benson and Jason Zucker have returned to the lineup, the Sabres should be better equipped for the challenge ahead.  With a return to the playoffs the goal throughout the organization, the club has work to do to climb into a postseason slot.

The outcome of this season will hinge on the Sabres performance away from home the rest of the way.
