RIP happy dude with greasy hair

he was the most well known rock DJ in philly. came here in 1981 and worked at the station til.. well yesterday.

he didn’t show up for his shift today so they sent people to check on him and he was dead. 70 years old.

i can’t tell you how many shows i came out of to see him standing on the sidewalk with a microphone to ask us how the show was and everything. “hello, good citizen! you’re on the radio! how did you like the weezer show?!”

i figured he was a local DJ

guess i was right about the happy dude part.

I got to drink with him one night at the cigar bar…..he was the fucking man

he seemed like a happy little old dude. always laughing an smiling. i’d go as far as to use the word jolly.

and i’m not sure i’ve ever used the word jolly when it wasn’t december.
