Toronto announces it has traded Joseph Woll and Simon Benoit to PHI for Samuel Ersson, Emil Andrae and a third-round pick.
Don’t doubt the veracity but even off the record, nobody is going to dump on a player. EDM is a dumpster fire though. They need 2 forwards, 2 D and a goalie just to fill the roster let alone compete and only $15-17M or so in cap space. If/when they trade Nurse, they need 3 D. They’re a mess but, if they did retain millions a year, they’d have to get a Dman in return and no one is sending a package for him.
I know the source. It’s a legit source. But I don’t see it happening for all the reasons I spelled out.

This isn’t a rumor but it is a non-story. A bubblehead writer (ASF) asked a Flyers source about a possible trade for Nurse. Source said they’d discussed it internally but not even a phone call’s worth of action. So basically nothing. Teams are going to be discussing every available player and it is clear Nurse is moving on from EDM, team’s choice. He doesn’t fit here. The Carlson UFA fit looks best to me so hopefully he wants to come here, but he can go anywhere he wants that makes him an offer. I’m sure the Flyers have a Plan A, B, C. Not sure Nurse is even Plan Z.
It would be interesting if the Wings just make him sit this season if they do not get a deal to their liking.
According a Detroit Free Press report, the Flyers are not on Dylan Larkin’s short list of desired trade destinations after requesting to be moved.
