This week, the switch has been flipped! In the immortal words of HNIC broadcaster Bob Cole, “everything is happening.” And for fans of the Montreal Canadiens, it’s time to board this moving train.
Brossard has been a hive of activity with players filling both sheets of ice: established members of the team continued their informal workouts on one side and Canadiens Rookie camp got underway on the other side.
This weekend, the Prospect Showdown, featuring young hopefuls from four Canadian NHL organizations, got underway with head-to-head games at the Bell Centre. On Saturday night, a sold-out crowd was treated to the talents of Ivan Demidov, Oliver Kapanen, Owen Protz and Jacob Fowler.
And next week will see the opening of the Canadiens main training camp preceded by the team’s annual golf tournament.
Add into all the activity a smoldering rumor about Sidney Crosby that was set alight this week by Crosby himself and his player agent.
