I doubt as if you will see much of a splash this year. Maybe a trade or free agent signing, but nothing more. We still have to see talent rising up to the NHL level. I would love to see a trade with San Jose to get the second pick, but I will be happy with Reid.
That would be the pinnacle! From my wife’s prospective– no use buying Coach or Louis Vuitton bags, when your aim is CHANEL or Hermes. For us guys, it’s don’t spend your money on the vette or 911, if your goal is the Lamborghini. 😉
Haru, i really appreciate KDs patience and sticking to the rebuild. Many keep saying it’s not possible, while many continue to jockey for current players the Blackhawks will begin sneaking up on the league.
If there was a player i want the Blackhawks to get it would be McJesus from the Oilers and quite honestly his contract expires as the Blackhawks are going to take the next step.
Four more days to go…. It’s getting crazy out there. Didn’t see Brady getting traded so soon, but Staios probably knew Brady wasn’t going to re-sign there just like brother Matthew in Calgary and Quinn Hughes in Vancouver. Makes the entire team uneasy when knowing that the teams’ star player wants out, so ripping off the bandage stings a little, but better off in the long run.
If KD comes through with a trade, he usually does it ahead of the pack; hopefully he’ll get something done in the next few days. Perhaps he can get Bedard’s bud McTavish from the Ducks? … Or Byram from the Sabres? Very important week ahead of us…
If the Hawks want Stenberg bad enough, offer San Jose our fourth pick, a second-rounder this year, and a first next year. Throw in Korchinski for good measure. If not, I’ll take Chase Reid and be happy. Also, I would talk to philly about Michkoff(?)
Interesting that the Hawks have not taken a prospect to dinner at the combine the last two years, but it was reported that the Hawks visited Chase Reid and had dinner with him in his hometown. Could this be a message to the Sharks that if you intend to pick Reid in the draft, you’d better do so with your #2 overall pick? Cause if you intend to deal with the Rangers at #5 or Calgary at #6 for that #2 pick, we’ll be more than happy enough to take Chase Reid before you get your chance. Just an interesting thought.
Watching these playoffs everyone saying Demidov has got elite hands, don’t get me wrong he looks like a top 6 forward but i just don’t see the elite hands. If he looked like Patrick Kane then I’d be really disappointed we didn’t draft him, hopefully Arty becomes the number 1 dman the Blackhawks need
If Lardis gets better at his defense and understanding where he’s gotta be in the dzone he’s going to have a very nice career in the NHL.
Greene plays a full season and is just a solid solid hockey player.
Boisvert hurt his shoulder and never was the same hockey player this past season, he and Bedard can both rehab their shoulders in the offseason….
And as I’ve said before i can’t wait for these kids to turn into men and that’ll be happening very very soon.
I am not not so sure it is Lardis improving his understanding of his defensive assignments as much as it he is at thisn time a featherweight with an incredibile skill in his hands and stick.
Throughout the eras and vastly faster skill levels we see today,in every generation of pro hockey, there are guys like this who improve and stick around the league.
Many,well, are contarcted and given the benefit of lax defensive equality, becasue they shoot the bisquit so well!
I love Lardis’ hands, but now HE/We/Blackhawks now exactly where he is, and maybe the figure out where he goes/plays after the training camp….
