    Seeing the bigger picture, I hope they play the shit out of him and he finds tremendous success, which would make other teams very interested in acquiring him, possibly giving up a first round pick and no salary retention, a guy can dream. 🙂

    His history would suggest otherwise. Do you think he will fit in with this team? That’s the big question, they want to establish a good culture here. Hopefully you’re right and they miraculously manage to move him off the team. He’s in a good spot to float the rest of his deal out here like Loui Eriksson did regretfully.

    @FreakShow

    Hopefully he gets bumped down to the 2nd line, not that he’d GAF.

    I was very surprised not to see the Canucks at the top of the list. I think Canucks could be a very tough team, no longer fun to play against team with some of the size and grit they brought in.

    The good thing about the state of this team in there will be little to no pressure to win, just play the right way. This should make EP40 happy, he can go out and block shots and get his 50-60 points. All good.

    Call me crazy but I think with a clean slate and some of the opinionated clowns out of the mix you’re going to see him at 75 points. He’s seemingly a very sensitive (weird) person so with some of the noise gone, he might find some of his game again.

    I read yesterday the teams expected to finish last next year Vegas Ducks Sens

    I’ll venture to guess VAN finishes last again, picks 3rd OA. I could see Vegas winning the lottery, it would be great for Bettman.

    Vegas is too deep and too talented to finish anywhere near the bottom. Plus, they have a new good young coach, players will be excited and ready to play.

    Canucks are bottom five all day long, they just need some lottery luck. That being said, there’s a lot of great players, historically, in the top three picks. Just keep drafting and building towards the future.

    Canucks won’t be big spenders for the foreseeable future.

    Nor should they be, unless it’s taking on salary to acquire draft picks or valuable young talent.
