Mr Ricochet
ParticipantDamn that seems like a team friendly deal. Not a bad move by Knight gets stability knows he’s going to be here for the next 4 years.
The extension is 3 yrs, Dots. ..

ParticipantKnight signs a bridge deal!!! 3 yrs at 5.8 per……….I think this is what I was hoping for. Hawks don’t rope themselves to a 5-8 yr deal for an uber talented kid that hasn’t played more than 40ish games in a yr. And for Knight he fills his pockets with cash in the near term and if he hits anywhere near his ceiling he’s gonna get a big fat long term deal.. Risk either way for both sides but the 3 yr deal is the most risk averse option.

ParticipantI think it’s just a good rule to not really give up on a kid until they hit over 200 games in the NHL, or are 24 years and older.
I believe Reichel needs talent around him, i thought he looked well in spurts with Smith who has decent scoring touch, Maroon decent hockey IQ. What i didn’t understand was that line began to cook and LR broke it apart.
If the kid would just use his speed to be tenacious and play in the opponents face constantly without the puck and not be on the wrong side of it more times than not, there would be a roster spot for him in every game.
But we are finally here, Reichel is now a possible trade chip, an after thought of being on this team, because of the kids coming up behind him.

ParticipantI think if Reichel could learn how to backcheck with his speed, he would make himself more valuable to this team. It is a make or break year for him.

Participant@haru Great comment this morning, my friend. For some reason, I’m not sold on Reichel… but we have to give him a chance and see how he looks at training camp

ParticipantHopefully Lardis and the other prospects can learn from both Nazar and Vlasic that not making the club right off the bat can be time well spent in the AHL. They both appeared to have worked hard on their deficiencies and have earned their way back on the squad with nice long term contracts. In the case of Reichel, not so much, but I’d like to see if this summer’s training regimen has worked out for him. Hard to give up Reichel’s speed and skill. I’m hopeful that he prevails.

ParticipantGame is at 6pm tonight. Hers’s a link to the Hawks home page. Once there, I assume there will be a link to the video feed.

ParticipantHave to say this is a really encouraging article by Pope
Lardis is leaning on Nazar to figure out what he needs to do to play in the NHL. I really hope to see the same tanacity from Lardis and all these other rookies in the near future.

ParticipantThe Lev-Demidov dynamic reminds me of the Bedard-Michkov arguments for that years draft. Funny thing is I hear no one comparing Celebrini and Demidov, even on Montreal boards
That’s because all the so called pro paid analysts agreed with SJ pick.
