ParticipantI know there’s a lot of love out there for the Habs but i have to admit I’m really curious to see how they do this year. The east looks like it’s getting weaker every year.
Do the Caps all of a sudden look like the Bruins this year? Bolts, Rangers, Pens players all getting AARP cards in the mail. Seems to me some teams are going to be better because their own division is getting worse.

Montreal and Ottawa are a couple of the up and comers. Florida, Toronto and Carolina have the talent. TB still has a little left in the tank. NJ is good enough. WASH may regress, but still make the playoffs. That’s 8.
Boston, NYR, PIT, NYI going the opposite direction. PHI not ready yet. Buffalo is Buffalo. Maybe Columbus and Detroit emerge as bubble teams.

I believe the two oldest teams this season are Pens and Kings. Get Brossoit healthy and start a bidding war between Habs and Kings please.

ParticipantAnyone read about the new CBA rule starting this season where teams will be allotted one spot in the AHL for a 19-year-old? Assuming the Hawks choices are essentially Vanacker or Spellacy if they decide to move one or the other up to AHL as they’re the only prospects that have signed their ELC that’d be worthy of the spot. Thoughts?
If it’s me, I’d move Spellacy up to AHL. Not sure how much more he’ll learn in the OHL and his ceiling/floor are a lot lower than Vanacker. I’d keep Vanacker in Brantford so he can get a full season of being the man with Lardis and O’Brien moving on and so he gets in a healthy season to gain confidence prior to moving up to AHL. He’s destined to be a crowd favorite when he hits the show but for now, let’s develop him properly.

18 year olds are still screwed or if they turn 19 during the season it’s ok?

ParticipantWondering if Kyle enters the chat for Carey Price’s contract. Brossoit for Price + 2026 conditional pick perhaps? Habs are currently $4.8 million over the cap. Swapping Price for Brossoit would get the Habs $3 mil under the cap so they’d still have room to play with down the line. Also nets them a solid goalie if he returns to playing in 25-26. For Hawks, they get something in return for Brossoit and let their problem become the Habs’ problem while absorbing Price’s contract.
I think it’s a definite possibility and a creative take. I’m super curious what is going on with Brossoit and if he will play again.

Same. I can’t wait for the season to start and the conversations to really get going. 🙂

I had the exact same issue with it going to my Gmail Spam folder. I hope the admin of the site realizes this might be making the process more difficult for people. I know there can be some modifications to email settings to help prevent it being marked as SPAM.
