ParticipantBedard and Bertuzzi kind of remind me of Kane and Domi. I think that Knight has the spirit of Tony O in him. Loved how the guys stood up for one another. I don’t know how long they can keep this up before some of these rookies hit a wall, but I am loving the way they are playing right now. I would imagine that Nazar has some kind of contusion on that leg. Hopefully, he won’t be out long. Go Hawks!

ParticipantI’m thinking the game plan is to cut the ice in half, Knight is fantastic if they keep the puck on the same side, i saw one pass that made it across the middle of the ice and the guy missed the deflection wide left.
Good for Knight getting the shut out, well deserved

ParticipantPDO, for people who don’t know, is simply Shooting Percentage plus Save Percentage. Spencer Knight boosts that number because of his strong SV%, but overall the team’s PDO is still solid.
If the Blackhawks can cut down on their High-Danger Chances Against, that will push their game to another level. Limiting those grade-A looks will help the Hawks become a much better and more consistent team.

ParticipantSomebody alluded to PDO here recently, I think. Hawks PDO is currently 102.9. Eventually they will regress to the mean of 100.0. But, no doubt the team is playing better. Let’s hope they continue to improve and continue enjoying watching the games.

Participant<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>Blackhawks ranked 5th, 5 on 5 goals for.
<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>It will be interesting to see how that plays out through the season as it goes on. The shooting percentage will continue to come down to the curve but the Hawks are slowly getting better at getting shots on net. Over the last 6 games we are even in shots for and shots against, with those coming out even at 5v5. I think in part the Hawks were trailing a bit more, so a bit more motivation to get offense going when you are behind, vs the early part of the season where the Hawks didn’t trail for much of time on ice. I think a long road trip like this can help galvanize the team together while they players are learning life under the new coaching staff and in some cases still learning the NHL ropes.
<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>I’m sure they are going to look to get the 2nd line rolling again which has been quiet the last few games. I know Bertuzzi has been scoring a few goals, but none of them were while he was on the second line, as he was out there on the PP or with line 3 or 4 for a shift.
