ParticipantStorytelling is everything. Bret was telling a story inside the ring as well and he was the best at this. Yes, the feud and the storylines like you said but once you are inside the ring, its not just about the moves but there is a way to tell a story within that match. If that makes sense.

ParticipantWould you include guys like Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero in that?
no but even though they are, you just never even thought of them much as luchas because they actually could talk. but like 95% of the luchas can’t so they never write them into anything good. it’s not their fault cause they’re great if you’re into the athleticism of it all but i always liked following the stories so they just never interested me much. hell, my guy was kevin nash and he could hardly work at all so wrestlers really didn’t even have to be good at actual wrestling for me as much as just be in the good storylines.

ParticipantYes!
Love 5 days of football
totally racist-sounding-but-not-racist-i-swear opinion: i’ve never been a fan of the luchas. they can’t talk on american tv so they aren’t ever part of any great storylines.

ParticipantHonestly, feel the same. All their pushes are to cater to a large Latino market and sell masks.
And their move sets are too similar
i do love the masks though.
