ParticipantI didn’t know that and it is interesting. He is playing in the AHL. Canucks should trade for him and get him in their system as a reason for Baby Bro to stay with Canucks? Cheap get.

ParticipantYou’d hope this won’t happen, but the way players are entitled these days. Is it only a matter of time before Zeev want’s to play in the USA? Nothing you can do about the new trend, hopefully he turns into a top pair D and if that’s the case trade him for a boatload of assets like they did with Quit Hughes.
Not all are headcases or a Tkachuk or want out of the himterland of Edmonton & Alberta.
Imo Buium has high character & more depends on how he gets treated & how well mgmt builds the team
You know he has a brother who plays for Detroit right?

ParticipantI think the hats are owned by Molson’s plenty of money I can see Aquilini working the concession stands trying to make a couple of bucks to pay Sedins salary,
It’s not all about money it’s the Tkachuk/USA thing. Quit Hughes another example. This is nothing new Ryan Kesler did the same thing, it’s just more rampant now. Winning a cup on a Canadian team is a longshot, that also plays into this.

ParticipantNo best players in the world are coming to Vancouver uless it is Celebrini. I would lower expectations. Canadian hockey is going to take a kick to the nuts in the next few years.
I agree. Montreal is doing pretty good with it’s young players but time will tell if their young stars ask for a trade to less traditional, higher income US market.
Celebrini/Bedard would be huge for the Vancouver market. They should just be coming out of the rebuild by then.

ParticipantThe good news is he isn’t eligible for an offer sheet July 1st so they can see how his season is going and wait.

ParticipantI would pump the brakes a little. I like the Kid but he has 6 goals 20 pts in two years. We have signed enough anchor contracts in the past and we don’t need to keep adding to the pile.
Canadian teams are going to be having a huge disadvantage with the salary cap and the 40% differential in the dollar. Add to that the cost of living. I don’t see a Canadian team having huge success for many year. Elite players wanting to head to the tax free states like Fla Texas.
Buium will probably want to move on in five years.
Our owner is one of the cheapest fuckers in sports and as you can see he is not investing a lot of money anywhere.Canuck fans should get use to having Swedes on the team and players from BC that care about the Canucks.
Fuck the Swedes, enough!
