Jays suck balls and the players themselves say the team is disjointed. Every weakness was easily identified before the season started and went unaddressed by management. I kind of agree with you. I hope they keep Gausman, but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see Kirk traded. Valenzuela looks like a great young catcher who’s a switch-hitter. Maybe Vasrsho could be traded, but they need to get an above-average center fielder. Springer? I’d keep him, but the AAV needs to fit.
Nah, they have to sell hard. If they move out 4 or 5 expiring contracts or veterans, it gives them the opportunity to replenish the system which they can either continue to develop or flip in future trades. If they want Gausman or anybody else to return, bring them back as a UFA.
Big surprise, the Jays needed a legit left handed starter so therefore the Dodgers got Skubal.

I think it’s unfair to say he took the year off because that doesn’t seem to be in his character. If anything, he’s trying too hard and making it worse.
