ParticipantGlad he Leafs lost these 2 games, winning one would just keep muddying the waters for a team that needs to retool. this year is a write off, get picks and prospects for as much as you can.

ParticipantThe trading can’t start soon enough
But guys this is such a difficult market market to play in because of the media and the fans and stuff!

ParticipantDeBoer will get a lot more out of this team offensively but he’s the most Leafy coach out there. He’s the guy that goes to the Finals and loses. Every. Single. Time. Either the Conference Finals or the Cup Finals. On Team Canada? Silver. He is the master runner up coach.
He’s perfect for what the idiots in the board room wants though.
In addition to this, DeBoer was also drafted by the Leafs, 237th overall in the 1988 draft; one of the worst draft years for the Leafs in terms of missed opportunities.
Look at this disaster of a draft by Gord Stellick, a legendary retard of failed Leafs GMs. He was Dubas before Dubas.
Leafs draft Scott Pearson 6th overall, before…Martin Gelinas, Jeremy Roenick, Rod Brind’Amour, Teemu Selanne all going 7th to 10th. Franchise destroying bad pick.
Leafs draft Tie Domi 27th overall. Probably the only good pick in 1988 for the Leafs.
Leafs draft Peter Ing 48th overall. Mark Recchi and Tony Amonte went 67th and 68th.
Leafs draft Ted Crowley 69th overall. Rob Blake went 70th overall.
Leafs draft Len Esau 86th overall. Alexander Mogilny went 89th overall.1989 was just as bad when the Leafs took three 1st round picks at 3rd, 12th and 21st overall and selected Scott Thornton, Rob Pearson and Steve Bancroft with players like Bill Guerin taken 5th, Bobby Holik taken 10th, Olaf Kolzig taken 19th and Adam Foote taken 22nd.
Imagine the 1992/1993 run if the Leafs knew how to draft prior to bringing in Gilmour and Andreychuck…
Clark | Gilmour | Mogilny
Andreychuck | Roenick | Recchi
Osborne | Holik | Foligno
Berg | Zezel | DomiGill | Blake
Ellett | Foote
Macoun | RousePotvin | Kolzig
What a difference two drafts (even one) can make because that’s a Cup winner at worst, a dynasty at best right there.
But anyway, of course DeBoer was traded in 1989 for Paul Lawless (played 13 games for the Leafs) and never played a game for the Leafs or anybody else.
It would become the perfect PR narrative to create of the prodigal hometown son. He’ll tell everybody how all these years he’s been working so that one day he could return to where it all began and bring the Stanley Cup home. They’ll have a picture of him in his Maple Leafs tube socks. Keith Pelley will have a marketing field day. And most retards in this market will buy it hook, line and sinker.
Sell everybody. Draft high, draft often and draft well. Learn from the mistakes of the past.

ParticipantYup, they’ll shuffle around a few minor pieces and then come up with a plan in the summer. Biggest piece to move may be OEL, but I hope they keep him.
Berube is done. The team quit on him and he quit on the team. Tre likely not far behind him. Get Deboer behind the bench, not sure who is the GM target.

ParticipantThe Toronto Star and Damien “sucks” Cox can fuck all the way off. What a bullshit article he wrote, and I 1000% wouldn’t be surprised if that’s another in a long list of things that drives AM34 out of the city. (Coincidentally, I will admit that the fan treatment of Marner is another, although I still 100% think that needed to be done).
Fuck this bullshit that he chose politics over playoffs. The guys just lead his team to Olympic gold for the first time in 40 years, hell yeah he should go to the White House. He didn’t even go to the SOTU, and still played last night. But, bullshit legacy media can’t miss the opportunity to make everything political.
He’s stuck in traditional, corporate, boomer media. The only people who read his slop are elbows up retards. It’s the same retards who watch the CBC. It’s just slop for the boomers because they’re the only people left watching that garbage.

ParticipantI don’t think we will see any significant trades.
The fans want team to sell players, but organization wants to sell tickets.
The fans thinking it can’t get worse, but bosses thinking it can go worse and they are not completely wrong.Yup, they’ll shuffle around a few minor pieces and then come up with a plan in the summer. Biggest piece to move may be OEL, but I hope they keep him.

ParticipantA puke worthy effort. It’s like they have a hard turd stuck up their asses. This team is starting to become as hateful to watch as the Phaneuf/Kessel years.

ParticipantGiving this kind of effort consistently at any other company or business would result in massive firings and changes…
Well not Metrolinx, but you know what I’m saying.
