Happy they fought that off. A good first, yes they’re down a goal but it was a nice one. Just keep it up Canada, those pucks will start to go in 👍

ParticipantWasn’t it his line that tied the game up?
According to retard logic, it doesn’t count, 0 points means he was a ghost who almost got Canada’s goal taken away for goaltender interference.

ParticipantDifferent situation. Canada is expected to be a powerhouse at the Olympics. Marner’s goal was spectacular, but it’s a one off game. Of course it did win them a chance to get to the Gold medal game. It’s a lot different playing a 7 game series where you’ve got players that want your scalp.
Wrong. It wasn’t a “one off”. He showed up in OT at the 4 Nations. It’s not that different. Yes, his team is stacked but he’s playing against other players who are also “the best”. OT at the Olympics is an elimination game. It’s win or go home. Your Marner Derangement Syndrome showing.
Marner has issues playing in traffic, but freewheeling he’s magnificent.
Wrong again. He went directly into traffic, 1v3 and won the game. This is a figment of your imagination.
However, that contract wasn’t viable for the Leafs. You can’t pay 3 players max value and be able to build around them.
Another falsehood. The Leafs fucked themselves with Tavares. They fucked themselves with Rielly. They refused to trade Nylander. Every step of the way, the Leafs created the scenario to push Marner out the door. And they were wrong for doing so. It led to nothing but shitty results on the ice.
Many forget, he was the player that didn’t pick up his check in overtime of game 7 versus the Bruins. Pasternak blew by him and he just let him go to the net on a dump in. This is what the Leafs Nation remember.
Falsehood. That’s not at all what happened. Marner wasn’t the one responsible for that goal. Samsonov stayed in his net. Rielly did not get back fast enough. Pasta looped around Marner’s blindside and had more speed than Marner making it impossible for him to be caught from behind. Leafs Nation believes this false narrative as millions of retards believe in the Russiagate Hoax. Guess what? Just because a bunch of retards believe something to be true, doesn’t make it true. It just means a bunch of sheep needed a scapegoat.
They also remember him backing down from the Panthers and the Leafs lose in 7. If Marner had made them eat an elbow or his stick, message would have been sent.
And where was Nylander, Tavares, Rielly and Matthews? Oh, they didn’t do fuck all either? Marner made them eat an elbow or a stick? Now you’re in retard land. If Marner had taken a 5 minute major, the Panthers would have scored 10 goals. You’re acting like the sheep. Stop.
Marner is a wonderfully skilled player, made for International hockey. It doesn’t translate into anything close to NHL Playoff calibre. We will see how he does in Lost Wages when the Playoffs begin. Then, you can make an informed decision on him as a playoff performer.
What does “international” hockey mean? It means fucking nothing this year because the ice is the smallest they’ve ever played on at the Olympics. It’s not “international” hockey.
How will the Leafs be doing in the playoffs this year? Oh right, went from 1st in the division to last and missing the playoffs.
The informed decision has been made; the Leafs lost, Marner won.
