Where would they be if Marner didn’t bail them out last game? Wouldn’t even be playing for a medal. Who won the game 1v3? Wasn’t Mac. Or Crosby. Or even McDavid. It was Marner.
Where was Marchand vs. Finland? 0 points. Stone? 0 points. Bennett? 0 points. They must all suck balls too, right? Wrong again retard. A lot more goes into winning than just GWG elimination game OT goals like Marner scored.

Different situation. Canada is expected to be a powerhouse at the Olympics. Marner’s goal was spectacular, but it’s a one off game. Of course it did win them a chance to get to the Gold medal game. It’s a lot different playing a 7 game series where you’ve got players that want your scalp. Marner has issues playing in traffic, but freewheeling he’s magnificent. However, that contract wasn’t viable for the Leafs. You can’t pay 3 players max value and be able to build around them. Many forget, he was the player that didn’t pick up his check in overtime of game 7 versus the Bruins. Pasternak blew by him and he just let him go to the net on a dump in. This is what the Leafs Nation remember. They also remember him backing down from the Panthers and the Leafs lose in 7. If Marner had made them eat an elbow or his stick, message would have been sent. Marner is a wonderfully skilled player, made for International hockey. It doesn’t translate into anything close to NHL Playoff calibre. We will see how he does in Lost Wages when the Playoffs begin. Then, you can make an informed decision on him as a playoff performer.

Canada wins, Binnington makes some huge stops late and the village idiot can’t get in here fast enough to find a way to try and cast doubt and set himself up to ‘be right’ if they lose in the Gold medal game and diminish the win.

Time and time again, it’s painfully obvious to anybody except the retards; Binnington is the weakness. The rest of the team has to allow very few shots against and constantly bail him out by being behind against the Czechs and now the Fins. Then he makes two or three saves and then the retards thinks he’s making “huge” saves when his overall SV% was in the .800s.

Finland was a tough test, Saros outplayed Binnington but Canada just had too much offensive power to be denied the whole game.
They’ll probably have to do that all over again vs. the USA but the USA has way more push back.
If they play Slovakia, they’ll be shooting against an AHL goalie. So, while Slovakia has overachieved, the USA shouldn’t have a problem with them either.
But anything can happen in a one off elimination game.
Sitting next to Nylander, Tavares and Matthews who don’t get blamed or run out of town but are currently on one of the worst teams in the NHL while Marner is trusted by Team Canada to win OT games as well as shut town other teams in the last minute to hold a lead.
