With the San Jose deal today it’s looking like SJ will take Stenburg.

So which one does Vancouver take Reid or Malhotra?

      Reid.

Verhoeff is too risky at 3… red flags on decision making. Called a turn over machine by many scouts. If everything were to come together for him… he may be one hell of a player but he is no clear top 3 pick.

Malholtra… not a top 3 pick either. With Stenberg you are looking at top line winger. With Reid you are looking at top pairing D. I feel they hit that ceiling much more likely than Malholtra hitting top line C.

First time we pick top 3 in almost 30 years and there’s a feeling that they are going to reach back from there with some poorly timed tunnel vision.

I have not been to any of his games, no.

Hundreds of scouts have. Best I can do is look at their opinions of him and watch some film myself.

Sorry, I don’t give you the credit I do for scouts. I will remember to pay you credit if he turns out to be the best D in the draft and worthy of the 3rd. I think Reid is the more likely candidate for that.

That’s fine. Either way your letting complete strangers form your opinion. I’ll take Verhoeff based on my opinion that he will provide exactly what this team needs going forward.

I am a bit leery on taking a highly touted American out west based on recent events. I want a guy that wants to be here and wants to stay. I also see that in Verhoeff.

Quite honestly, it’s flattering that you don’t give me credit that you do scouts. Mostly because you know absolutely jack squat and I don’t need affirmation from ignorant people.

Hope all is well buddy and the fishing is great.

I’ll still take Verhoeff over Reid for the reasons stated. Pussy.

      2oa for Kesselring/27oa

Idk about that. Is Kesselring that good to warrant giving up Stenberg or Reid or another D?

      Vancouver Canucks
      2026 draft picks: 1st, 1st (MIN), 2nd, 2nd (SJ), 3rd (CBJ), 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th (WSH), 6th (BOS)

The Canucks’ most pressing need is skill. They need it on defense, and they need it at forward. It is not about positional need or desire; the Canucks desperately need to draft players with elite scoring profiles and high upside with every selection.

If Ivar Stenberg gets to three, that is a no-brainer pick. It continues with their other selections in their early rounds. They should target players such as Nikita Klepov, Adam Novotny, Mathis Preston, Ryan Roobroeck, Yegor Shilov, Casey Mutryn, Tommy Bleyl and Xavier Villeneuve.

The Canucks desperately need an influx of skill and upside at every position in their prospect pool as part of the rebuild. It starts with drafting the best players available and extracting value wherever possible.

There is lot’s of talk today about other teams asking about trades for EP40 Debrusk Boeser Hronek (Stupid if they do).

Teams are dumpster diving looking for buy low trades.I really despise the EP$$40 signing but trade him at the trade deadline. Same with Boeser. Keep Hronek he was leader last year and the young D can sure learn a lot from him.

Hilarious. I thought about this discussion not even a week ago. I still cant get over a guy who talks like he has street fighting experience but thinks punching someone who is running up behind your friends back while he’s engaged in a fight as “sucker punching”. Or you saying the honorable thing to do is make arrangements with him to step aside and have our own 1 on 1. Like thats going to happen in the 2 seconds you have to intercept.

In typical drummer fashion, he was jumping in on a 1 on 1 fight that was actually off to the side. Having no experience in real life fights you contradict yourself and support the idiot who got his ass dumped on the floor for being a back jumping coward. “don’t sucker punch the back jumping coward!!”… lol. Who demands respect for that shit besides you…

Everything you said that day comes off as someone who is imagining what it would be like in a big spontaneous brawl or there wouldnt have been issue with it at all.

I’ve had plenty my friend, both on and off the ice. A sucker punch is a sucker punch. It’s not like you went to restrain him. The fact that it was an innocent Drummer just makes the act more disgusting. 😁

Oh I restrained him alright… anchored him flat on his ass and no one should feel sorry since he was jumping in(but you).

You sound like the last guy I would want watching my back. If someone rushes you from behind while you’re engaged in a fight, LM is going to have a discussion with him. Gonna meet somewhere for a gentlemen’s fight later… Not going to hit the back jumper because that would be unfair.

I’m glad you brought up this ridiculous position you took. No one can accuse me bringing up people’s embarrassing past arguments they made, like this one of yours. 😉

Now back to hockey… Did you take a liking to Verhoeff because he failed to protect a team mates back and you thought that was honorable? I hope not. We had enough of that over the years. The Load Management model. hahaha

Lol. You did the exact thing you’re criticizing. Jumping in from behind. But boys will be boys I suppose.

I like Verhoeff’s size, poise and his ability to get shots through bodies. Plus he’s just a good kid that is well spoken and seems like he has his shit together. Something you probably don’t fully understand.

Lol… I never jumped in from behind… I intercepted him face to face. The whole concept has you confused I guess… I mean you sympathize with the back jumper. Now just try and picture this… 2 guys in a fight… someone bursts out of the crowd and rushes in on your friend’s blindside… you have 2 seconds… do you drop him or have words with him? I drop him. You have words with him.

What are you going to sort out with a guy who is running at your friend in 2 seconds? He’s not even going to hear what you say… this is what I mean about you just imagining what a brawl is like. Nothing you say indicates any kind of reality in a situation like that. Stop pretending. It’s getting awkward.

I say just draft talent, high ceiling talent, it’s not like this is gonna be the only draft near the bottom in the next few years.

I agree. It’s a top 3 pick. If you have an eye on character, don’t reach back for it from top 3. Trade down. But honestly, you have a shot on some high end talent sure to be an impact player, go for it. Otherwise how stupid does tanking look when you get into the top 3 and then take someone ranked 5/6/7 or later who has more red flags than others in his tier…

It comes down to Canucks scout rankings. Without knowing that we don’t know their BPA. As for me I’m find with any of Stenberg Reid or Carels at 3oa. If they covet anyone else then trade down. Not knocking Verhoeff or Bjork or Malhotra it’s imo the next tier. I really like Cullen & Hemming in the middle rounds along with Rudolph. The Rucks after them. Bleyl Mutryn early 2nd works for me.

Yesterday’s word was Aquilini was willing to retain 3 mil just to get him off the books. I don’t know how much is true but from what I have heard was he wanted EP signed at any cost. Then blocked a trade to Carolina and now wants him gone.

Have you ever seen a NHl franchise with less lack of direction?
