Reality is, that “only” 90 points is going to get Vegas into the playoffs while Tavares and Nylander, both on pace for 105 points, are going to miss the playoffs in large part due to their defensive incompetence.

If the goal of a player being physical is to separate the opponent from the puck, Marner has way more takeaways 99% of the NHL. Only Makar and Slavin, two elite defenseman, had more takeaways than Marner. Out of the top 9 players in takeaways, Marner was the ONLY forward. The rest, all defenders. So following your logic, you’re terribly wrong.
If you want to bitch about the Leafs not having enough “hitters”, guess what? Hyman was the #1 hitter in the playoffs last year despite only playing 15 games. What did the Leafs do with Hyman?
