Loved how our never scored 30, 40 goal scorer needed an empty net just to hit 20. While, the “he’s a quitter and stinks”, Cutter scored 20 and finished with one more pt, as a rookie
The Flyers seem to be in that Desnoyers, O’Brien, McQueen area of the draft. The first two are the safe picks IMO, McQueen is the swing for the fences. That back injury is a big concern, but if he is healthy…..
Maybe, because they have those 2 other firsts they take the big swing. We shall see.
@elcamo. I am also on the McQueen train. They need to take the risk and draft the high ceiling guys instead of the safe 3rd liner. This is the most likely scenario of them getting out of this decade + long disgracefull run.
They have the draft capital and a few prospects to make a move. If they have to overpay so be it as that’s the cost of doing business.
Somehow package those other 2 first and whatever it may take (bonk? Tippet? Brink?) to get into the top 10-12. Is it feasible? Don’t know.
It is just sad that after years of losing the flyers really do not have much at all to show for it.
One top 5 pick to show for five years of suckage. Oh yeah they traded that dude away because he didn’t want to be here. They were lucky to get Michkov. They might literally get another Cootes level player. The odds are so far against getting another Michkov level player doing it the way they are doing it. As always I hope I am wrong.
