ParticipantI cant believe some people think a rebuild is slow, if it takes 4-5 years.
This team has nothing for talent yet some think it will miraculously take 2 or 3 years.
Some people just aren’t very smart.Slow as in no shortcuts. 2-3 years would take incredible growth & development. Idk who these ‘some people’ are you refer to. 4-5yrs is more likely the long term plan.
Adios enjoy CA

ParticipantI agree with Bob. This is not a 2 year turnaround and there are not stars on the team.
I had seen comments yesterday about trading Willander for Wright and I wanted to smack those people. Canucks addressed toughness and size this summer and have 3 young 2C. There are no elite players on this team so we need to do more losing first.
It’s going to take 2 years just to see any of this years draft picks go pro in North America. Most of them will be in their first camp 2028.
Stay away from Wright unless they are giving him away. Where does he even fit as a C? Not good enough for a 1c and we most likely have 2 and 3 covered by Malholtra and Cootes. Rogowski prob a 4rth C early on… makes no sense unless the shift Wright to wing… thats an idea but again, giving up assets like Willander for that? May as well just keep drafting and trading vets and avoid trading away young players recently drafted. Stay the course.
100% agree with both of you. No to Wright 👎🏻

ParticipantI think I will stick to staying at CA, over reading the babble from this Nighthawk guy.
At least at CA there is a block button.July 12, 2026 at 8:18 am #77599Bob Nill

ParticipantThey are pretty well set this year and next with Jamie O on LHD. Buium Dpetey Oleksiak. The object for this year should be rebuild get a top 5 pick. I think they have the roster and definitely the coaching staff to meet that goal.

ParticipantPassing on some very good D with the fixation on CM is a risky move. If he doesn’t become an excellent 2C at worst they missed the boat.

ParticipantWith D depth being Mancini Kudryatsev & Mynio & the need for a top 4 LHD wondering if the strategy is EP &/or Boeser/DeBrusk moved for D? Puts a lot of faith on D Petey to be top 4. Last option if lucky then a UFA D but unlikely. If the rebuild is planned to be a slow 4/5 years then this past draft has to be a home run. Next draft would bump that.
