funny how clarke wanted Rod Brind’Amour, Teemu Selanne, and Jeremy Roenick then settled for Claude. seesm odd as one is not like the other.

I am on the McQueen at this point. no more safe go for the high end ceiling. Hard to trade into top 10 though they have assets to part with if they want to imo. Especially if they take someone else and McQueen drops. Though don’t think the gm wants to trade his “core” players even though they are nothing special.

Buffalo needs NHL players now; who on the flyers would interest them? Can see them wanting to move their pick. boston, Utah, nash, seatle all to varying degrees would also possibly move their pick.

too lazy to look or remember. Do the flyers own any other teams 1st in 2026?

Boivin probably would have become a decent NHLer. Not a star but a decent player. ACL rehab in the late 1980s wasn’t as commonly successful as it today. He came back from it but was never the same prospect again. That said, yes, that’s quite a drop off. Two Hall of Famers and a borderline HOFer vs Claude Boivin.

Recchi, Amonte, Rob Blake, Juneau all taken in the 4th round in 1988.

I would rather the Flyers take a huge swing at #6 than once again going safe. They did that with Luchanko over Buium IMO.

If Hagens is there at 6 he should be the guy. (Latest Athletic mock has the Flyers taking Hagens). If he is not there I go Frondell, if he is not there, then I take the big swing at McQueen.

Hopefully, 0.0%. They can get immediate help via UFAs. Keep drafting the offensive talent.

Concur with MBFlyerfan1 as to taking a swing for the fences with McQueen if Hagens/Frondell are gone. Health reports currently seem on the upswing, and of course, we won’t hear the Staff MD results until after the draft. If I take McQueen at 6, I follow it up with another C at 22nd (hopefully Nesbitt at 6’4″). If I take Frondell/Hagens, I try for defense with Fiddler at 6’4 or Boumedienne at 6’2″. That leaves the 3rd 1st pick and all 2nd rd picks open to best available or a trade.
