Yes saw that as well. I’m not that interested in the 2oa to make that deal. I prefer wait to the TDL for a straight up 1st in a projected generational 2027 draft. SJ needs to sweeten a bit.
I saw a trade proposal yesterday sending Hronek to San Jose with the 3rd overall pick, the Canucks acquire the 2nd overall pick and the 20th pick, which also belongs to the Sharks.
This seems obviously directed at the Canucks & Hawks. Trying to create a bidding war & pick the D they really need. SJ can pick either Reid or Carels assuming Stenberg is definitely gone & maybe Malhotra. Imo the Canucks would be foolish to trade up 1 spot for the added cost in an asset(s). RJ should have a presser saying not interested & will pick BPA. Give SJ less leverage if Hawks are even interested to move up.
Comes down to if Stenberg falls then a no brainer or if gone take the best D. Malhotra is a reach imo unless coveted by the Hawks then swap picks to gain an asset. I believe with SJ needing D to with their F collection & the Hawks need F’s for Bedard the Canucks sit pretty.
Who do you want at 3oa given all the possibilities or outright want? Would you trade up or down or stand pat?
