I’m just glad we finally started to get some chemistry in our FW lines

    Replace 63 with 88
    Robert is your uncle

Nope, it’s Jarnkrok sitting by the looks of things

    Knies Matthews Domi
    Maccelli Tavares Nylander
    Cowan Roy Robertson
    McMann Laughton Lorentz

    Rielly Carlo
    OEL Stecher
    Benoit Myers

    Woll

I did hear that McCabe might be a game time decision but it seems to be leaning the other way.

    Go Leafs Go!!!

I think Canada played well, maybe goaltender could be a bit better.
From the other side is good that hockey developing in Europe as hockey geography is not that big.
It is vital to have some competition with European teams and not having US and Canada in the final speaks the volumes.

I thought Canada’s goalie kept them in the game actually, some huge saves in the 3rd period but the D coverage from Canada was terrible pretty much all game long. The goal where it was 1 on 3 and the opponent just walked through and roofed it was horrible Defensive play.

Canada also had no puck luck at all really – they hit what 5 or more posts? That one Canadian kid hit like 3 himself.

That game could easily have been a Canada win.[/quote]

Yes, it was close game and could go either way.
But it was exciting hockey game regardless.

It is 3 times in a row, but have to give Czech the credit, they are very scrappy team
and fighting hard for every inch of the ice.
Having the greatest beer in the World probably helps too.

Canada is always handicapped by not having it’s absolute best players because they stay in the NHL.

However, Misa and McKenna did not play at a high enough level. Iginla, Parekh, Martone, these guys showed up and scored big goals. But they didn’t get enough from Misa and McKenna. Canadian goalies still can’t steal games. The defenders allowed too many chances. Danford didn’t look that great.

<p class=”userway-s7-active” style=”font-family: Arial, serif !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s7-styled=”true”>But it was a great game otherwise.

It was a great game – I feel like the finicky ending kinda ruined it but I’m a traditionalist when it comes to hockey.

For me a tie is fine in regular season or round robin games and deciding games should only ever be 5 on 5 OT.

Was rooting for Finns, not even sure why. But both teams deserve to play in final.

Sweden wins the all star game shootout competition bs the Fins to play for gold.

The shootout should never be used to determine this type of thing IMO.

I also hate the 3 on 3 OT for all playoff games including the gold medal game in the world juniors now.

Gold Medal games are 3 on 3 until a winner no shootout. So basically a completely different game from the other 60 minutes.

Give me 5 on 5 OT for any and all “playoff games”. No shootouts.

But it was a great game otherwise.

Let’s say they find the way to move Reilly, but what is the next step to make D better?

The next step is blowing up the team and rebuilding. This D can’t be fixed, it can only be rebuilt.

Tanev is fucked. His career is basically over. If he does come back, you trade him immediately and hope somebody gives you a 1st round pick next year.

Same goes for OEL. You trade him at the trade deadline because he’s playing well and he doesn’t want to stay on a garbage team. So that could bring you a 1st round pick.

McCabe, he’s injured but that’s another guy you could trade to a team looking to make the playoffs (back to Chicago?) for a 1st round pick.

Carlo is injured but maybe you can trade him to a team as stupid as the Leafs were at the trade deadline.

Rielly, you dump for whatever you can. You don’t have to get back anything of value. Just removing him is a victory.

After that, you just have to draft, draft, draft and develop new players. You sign veterans on short term contracts and trade them at the deadline until you have young guys who can play full time.

I don’t believe it can be fixed either.
Tanev is a hero, but he should retire, he is one or two injures away from getting into very serious health problems.
