Bill MeltzerKeymasterThanks, Kicksave!
Bill MeltzerKeymasterSitting in the classroom where my wife teaches. Killing time online.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterWe had the aggressiveness of the auto ads turned down today. It means fewer ad impressions/ less revenue temporarily but it absolutely DOES affect user experience. The auto ads are temporary, anyway, but will be here til everything is sorted out with getting our main advertiser’s ads (minimal but strategically) placed on the site. We don’t want to add a paid subscription model so we have to make up for it with primary ads and a secondary one. No way around doing one, the other. or a combo of both. But user experience matters, too. None of us like sites littered with all sorts of ads. So we are working on minimal ads that meet BOTH advertiser needs and user experience needs.
Same thing with the Fan Forums. We take user feedback seriously and want to adjust what folks need to get more from the experience. It also helps if users spread the word. Again, more use means less obtrusive ads around the site. We really want to keep it free for all to use. I am not a fan of the paid subscription model with pay walls.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterWe are working on a Pens blogger.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterHold up is bridge vs. Long term. They aren’t close to an agreement yet. But they expect to get something done.

Bill MeltzerKeymasterI accidentally omitted Lindros’ name. Thanks for the catch. It’s added.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterThey still think McDonald can be a top 6.
If they use all three first round picks, I could see them taking Ravensbergen (especially at 31/32).
Makiniemi is a UFA and has had a couple major injuries. Hopes to get back on track in Finland.
With Robertson, I was told they can’t afford the trade price plus the extension if they want to pursue a No. 1 center within the next year.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterOverall traffic is going fine. The Forums are off to a slow start, however.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterThank you. Will have that fixed.

Bill MeltzerKeymasterBoivin probably would have become a decent NHLer. Not a star but a decent player. ACL rehab in the late 1980s wasn’t as commonly successful as it today. He came back from it but was never the same prospect again. That said, yes, that’s quite a drop off. Two Hall of Famers and a borderline HOFer vs Claude Boivin.
