Bill MeltzerKeymasterThanks for getting this written so quickly!
Bill MeltzerKeymasterI forgot they are related. Still don’t think it would make sense.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterIt would be interesting but I think he gets moved.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterI know the source. It’s a legit source. But I don’t see it happening for all the reasons I spelled out.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterChances of trading up/down? Underwhelming draft year.
Odds are against a trade up. In terms of trading down, that’s always a possibility if there’s someone they are confident they can still get a few picks later.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterWhat’s the deal with Martone getting so unceremoniously demoted? Did he finally hit the wall or is it something else?
I doubt it’s because he hit a wall. He was excellent in the first three games. Kind of quiet in game Three. But ever since — four games — he’s been the 12th forward. Hoping he didn’t get banged up.

Bill MeltzerKeymasterI hope so. He also has poise and ability to hold onto the puck and make plays and not get steamrolled like some of our smaller, skilled players. So think he’s a good fit on one of the units.
Tocchet said something about Couturier being “quite possible” for all game situation duty over rest of series. So he’s thought out it.
Bill MeltzerKeymasterCoots should be a staple on one of the PPs at this point. Can’t get any worse.
In addition, given that Glendening can take draws and play center, put him with 19 and 91 and move Coots to 3rd line with Barkey and Michkov. Coots appears to be willing to carry the team on his back and might as well let him at this point. just my 2 cents.
I think Couturier will play PP now if only to win faceoffs.
In terms of combos (subject to chance), I think the starting line tonight will be close to this:
Tyson Foerster — Christian Dvorak – Travis Konecny
Alex Bump – Trevor Zegras – Porter Martone
Carl Grundstrom – Denver Barkey – Matvei Michkov
Luke Glendening – Sean Couturier – Garnet Hathaway
Bill MeltzerKeymasterTo clarify on the documentary, whatever it is, it’s not Dupont deciding to come, is it?
With the Leaf’s pick, do you mean the Flyers will get the 2027 pick with no condition, relegating the Bruins to wait until 2028? Or will either the Bruins or Leafs have the option to bump the Flyers to 2028. I am fairly certain that by protecting their condition in 2026, it takes away the Leafs ability to enforce any conditions in 2027 or 2028.
Moose has a health situation in his family. That’s why he is likely not coming.
It is believed there are no conditions either in 2017 (likely going to be owned by the Flyers) or 2018 (Boston). NHL office still has not officially commented despite requests.
