Anybody else think Bedard got tripped before his empty netter?

I thought it was a trip, but he got the empty netter anyways.
Nice save by Arvid too, right before 98 hit his EN.

I think it could come in handy on the PK at some point.
Throw Mikheyev a bone too,I’m sure he could do the same.

Was interesting to see Arty leading the D men in ice time through two periods.
I believe he was 2nd only behind Vlasic.

Rinzel got the sheltered zone starts, and had a solid game.

Bedard’s FO numbers up to 48%,not bad considering how bad he started the 1st few games of the season.

The overhead view on Greene’s dish to Bedard and Bedard’s wrist shot is pretty insane.

    Some weird stats out there
I think the Kings only have 6 regulation wins, and have played 13 games on the road and only 7 at home!
Montreal and San Jose – both doing well in the standings, but both have a lot of OT wins.

I think I’m in the minority when I say I hate 3 on 3 OT hockey

Hey Coach! Nice read as usual.

When Arty was drafted everyone said he had all the physical tools to be a great D man,but they weren’t sure if he had what it takes between the ears.
I was listening to Blashill on spittin chiclets, and Blashill was on,mentioning Arty is farmer strength strong. And I read somewhere else where Blashill mentioned his hockey instincts are really good. Is this a coach just propping up his player,or do you see Arty slowly applying his IQ/instincts and getting better?

I was popping in and out to see if there were any comments in the general thread.
Couldn’t see the Detroit thread until today.

Odd that hockeybuzz had more comments when the team was absolutely abysmal, but now when they are at least watchable there seem to be way less comments.

Chicago is a Bears town, but I was watching the Hocks, and checking in here on the board!

Hopefully as the season goes there will be more interactions here!

Haven’t seen any news on Nazar, wonder if he plays. I know he is from Michigan,is he from the Detroit area?
Kantserov with another goal earlier today, and his team won.

He has looked good I guess in these 2 games.
Has playmaking skills,Donato whiffed on a behind the net pass from Moore vs Seattle, and in this game I think it bounced off him. Doesn’t matter,Moore seems to be contributing.

As long as he doesn’t play really bad,I think the Hocks will keep him up in the NHL even when Dickinson returns. Not sure how much room they have on the NHL roster? I assume since they traded Reichel, even if D1ck!nson comes back, there will be room for Moore on the NHL roster?

    Well written Coach Frenchy!

    Few questions about Blashill.
    1) I think I read he gave the team a hard practice after the loss to the Canucks. Is he going to burn them out,or do you think he’s learned when and how to push the buttons of giving them some easy practices and not overdoing it too much?
    2) I didn’t follow him at all with Detroit, remember hearing his name and knowing who he was,but other than that … Zero… Has anything specifically changed with Blashill since his Detroit days? Is he doing anything different that shows he’s learned something from being a HC and working for a few years with Cooper? Or is he running the same program he ran with the Res Wings?

Anybody read Ben Pope’s arricle in the suntimes about the changes Blashill is making?

    I didn’t get this part:

    Other systems
The Hawks’ neutral-zone trap remains similar to the 1-1-3 system Sorensen installed last winter, albeit with slightly more aggressiveness involved.

A 1-1-3 trap involves one forward (the “F1″) pressuring the breakout, a second forward supporting him and three Hawks guarding the blue line. If there’s a contested puck, it can morph into more of a 2-1-2.

The Hawks’ defensive-zone breakouts after dump-ins by the opposition will look different. Instead of both defensemen skating below the goal line, one will hold above the net and wait for the puck-retrieving defenseman to either wheel around the net or reverse direction.

The retriever won’t have the option of a “D-to-D” pass, but he should also encounter less forechecking pressure.

Why remove the option of a D 2 D pass?
So the retreiver has to skate the puck out himself,or ring it around out of the zone or find a forward to pass to?

Nice to have 2 spots to talk Hocks witht the season starting soon.

Kantserov scored another goal today and Frondell’a Djurgarden should start in about 2 hours.

All eyes on Korch and Allan tonight?

Hey Capn, your posts are always solid. Glad you made your way over………….. The lineups out? Always wanna see Allan, I’m a fan, but really wanna see Spellacy most and Lardis too. IMO there’s gonna be a time where Gavin Hayes nudges his way into the conversation…. Kid cruises with his head up, has the shot to score while he creates in a smooth manner.

    Hey hey Rico
Nice to see you are still around!
How did the young gun Korch look last night?

Read quite a few posts that Moore looked good(not just because of the goal).

Greene killed it at the dot last night, not sure how his play was outside of that
