Lebrun is saying that 5M for JT is unlikely given the comparables out there (Brock Nelson’s 7.5M, and JT’s career is better).

Brock signed a 3 year deal.
I think Tavares will get a 5 year deal from the Leafs to lower his cap hit to 5~5.5 ish cap hit

I think the Leafs can’t win a Cup with a player that bad defensively, that old at that price. He was useless in 6 out of 7 games against Florida.

R.Smith is to old. 34 and he cannot stay healthy. PERIOD!

Better to try to trade Marner’s rights, or let him walk. Add two players to the top 6 with that money. Make sure to get Knies signed and let Tavares walk, if he wants more than $5M on a one year deal.
