It happened weeks ago that Laughton got a PK PS and failed miserably because he was exhausted. The same thing appeared to happen with Matthews.

The NHL needs to change the penalty shot rule to give the team the option to either take a PP or take the penalty shot.

It might result in less penalty shots (which is still fine because when they do finally happen, it will be a lot more special) but teams would probably capitalize more often overall.

or allow a different player to take the PS.
both players were gased when the PS was given to them.
If the Leafs were to get a PP, you’d complain about Sullivan err something …
