It’s what good coaches do, hold EVERYONE accountable – the Leafs haven’t had a coach that has done that consistently probably since Pat Burns and to some degree Quinn.

It’s also why I think a guy like Torts might be a good move but he’s a short term remedy because he has shown historically he has a shelf life of 2-3 years but he could be the catalyst to make or at least start the culture change that is needed in Toronto.

I’m not against sitting other guys as well but I am against playing the kid just because he can score. Seriously, who cares is he can score when if he scores or creates a goal but then is reliable for giving up one or two?

But you’re right, that treatment needs to be given to everyone. A single mistake is one thing for a vet, but repetitive mistakes should get them benched as well.

Raddysh call was a combo of soft (90% of the time both players get a trip to the box in that situation) but also just a plain stupid and selfish move by Raddysh to even put himself in the position to be put in the box. The Leafs had just tied the game and had momentum and he does that? Stupid.

McKenna is making boat loads of mistakes defensively so any coach with half a brain can’t play him regularly against the oppositions top offensive players. Let the 18 year old learn of a full pro game ffs.

OEL should have been traded last year. His value was high and at the deadline would have brought us back a better return than today.

Tanev could be easily traded to a contender at the deadline if he’s healthy. Same for McCabe.

Rielly and Raddysh are the problem. Rielly has been trash for years and Raddysh is his new trash replacement. And the Leafs system has no viable replacements for any of them because of poor draft capital and draft management for the past 10 years whereby they’ve drafted and developed ZERO top talent on the blueline. Even if the Leafs had managed to draft and develop ONE top-four blueliner every 5 years, they’d be vastly better off. All they have to show is the likes of Schenn, Sandin, Liljegren and many others that don’t play for the Leafs.

At least the pick the Leafs got for Sandin became Cowan right?

But yeah, that blueline is close to the age where all their food needs to be puréed into a soup nowadays.
