But if memory serves me correctly, it is top 5 protected. So if they finish top 5 worse or their lottery ball gets moved up to top 5 they can keep their pickLook at the western conference, the leafs wonāt be top 5, if the season plays out as is theyāll be sitting around 20th overall or thereabouts.

For me a tie is fine in regular season or round robin games and deciding games should only ever be 5 on 5 OT.

The point of being closer to home is that youāre closer to home. He currently lives on the opposite side of the country. Heās also not 12 years old. He doesnāt have to go to mommies house every single day. Seattle is a 1 hour flight from Vancouver. Itās plenty close enough to āhomeā compared to Toronto.
If some other team wants him, find, dump his ass in Nashville, I donāt give a fuck where he lands. But Seattle is more than good enough to be closer to his āhomeā town than he currently lives now.
Thatās my point ding bat. Does being that close to home for 4 years matter that much? Why the fuck not just only agree to go to where you can earn the most? Then, since his next contract in his mid 30s (if he gets one) will be cheap as hell thatās when he can take it close to home.
All Iām saying is that he should just say fuck it, and go make what he can since Iām doubting competitors will ever see him as a core piece.

He is a famous, pre-authorized professional athlete. He isnāt driving to Vancouver. He is taking a short private flight. Crossing the border for guys like that is nothing.

The point of living at home is going there every day. Playing for any other team kills that, the end.
If heās willing to accept playing for another team then his list should be the lowest taxation states so he can have the highest take home possible. If anything I could see that I suppose. Imagine how much nicer his take home would look being away from Ontarioās 53.53% hit on home games to letās say Nashvilleās 37%? He gets about $46.3K post taxation a home game atm, there heād get around $61.5K.

Itās a 3 hour drive each way including the border crossing so living at home wouldnāt happen so Seattle doesnāt accomplish what he would want.
I mean he would probably consider Colorado this year but I highly doubt Colorado would consider him lol.
