ParticipantCan these Florida fuckers just die already? They aren’t even cheating anymore. Players willingly throwing away millions of bucks without the hopes that when they’re making 500k they will develop and expose a rash to their jersey.
they are going to lose someone.
Trade Rodrigues, promote Samoskevich

ParticipantUG could quite literally be the leafs GM himself and he’d criticize all his moves online lol
You’re happy with this trade?
Tarasenko just got traded to Minnesota for future considerations. I’d rather have him, at least he played under Berube when they won the Cup, than this piece of shit.
I don’t expect a star but a 24 year old fast skating playmaker at 3.4 is fine for the price. If he fails, they can let him go as an RFA or try to trade him at seasons end. He’s the right age and has a decent track record for 2nd/3rd line scoring. He might be a flop, it’s perfectly possible, but the cost was almost nothing outside of cap and it isn’t a huge cap hit.
More like a single than a home run, but sometimes you need to take chances when you don’t have any prospects you expect to make the jump outside of one guy.

ParticipantAlexander Romanov signs an eight-year extension with the New York Islanders carrying a $6.25M AAV
What the fuck is with these 4-6 guys like him, Bahl, Hague getting these massive deals? I guess they really hope that with the cap going up so much, that will be a steal in 3-4 years for a guy in their prime as a 3-4?

ParticipantThe Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Matias Maccelli from the Utah Mammoth in exchange for a conditional third-round pick, per @DarrenDreger
80 points next year. Guaranteed.

Looks like 3rd liner.
i dont know much of anything about this person
New coach didn’t like him. Young playmaking winger that does a lot of busy work without a lot of impact. Kerfoot-esque. A 24 year old potential 50 point getter is fine for a 3rd though. Duck it

ParticipantIf you are thinking about trading Reinbacher to get Kyrou, why not sign a guy like Ehlers or Boeser tomorrow and keep your assets?
Because the free agent has to want to sign there and Kyrou’s contract is a known quantity?

ParticipantNice breakdown M.P.
I’ve been a big proponent of breaking up JT/Willie …for me they don’t work when it matters. I’ve always been of the opinion that JT’s one of those guys that works best with a pair of grindy mobile wingers. Okposo, Moulson, etc…. I’d give him Knies and McMann (or someone new) and let them role. Nylander is dying for an excuse to be that guy that looked like the best player in the world for 4 months (pre-contract). He wants more minutes, more responsibility, etc… put him with Matthews and play them 22 mins per night. I like the idea of Marchand barking in both their ears. I think/hope that Marchand and Nylander help elevate 34.
For me that’s how I’d draw up the top 6 for the playoffs.
I still think Laughton has some 3rd line in him. Him, Domi, Roy could be good. Love your 4th line options …Jeannot and Tanev would be instant energy every time they’re on the ice. Laughton could centre them or add a 4th line PK/Banger.
I’m with you ..I don’t see Rielly waiving so I’m expecting the D to look the same.
Jt’s best years came with bouncing pucks off Matt Moulson’s ass on the PP and playing with a cream puff waiver wire guy like Parenteau because he was in his prime. Next best was Marner feeding him the puck. At his price and expected role, I think we should all be fine with 60 points and a lessened burden.

ParticipantInteresting discussion about the difficulty of getting a 2nd line center and the logic of trading (or not) for Jordan Kyrou from the Blues.
Habs have the assets. Makes sense. He’s actually good and not a roll of the dice like Dach/Newhook. Not sure why the Blues would want to move on? Berube is gone and Montgomery is a great coach for scoring.

ParticipantBrad Marchand still finished third on Boston in scoring despite his age, injury and being traded. I don’t think he has 4 years left in him, but he’s still a gamer and would be perfect. I doubt it happens even if they dump all the money at him.

Participant@ mr peanut : my post went in another dimension or something, it keeps doing that…
Happy for you to read that!
I have been bored a little lately, right at the start of my vacations. I need to find some stuff to do to fill up my days.
There is also that god damn woman who does not seems to care all that much about me, so that get me a little bit sad. But thats nothing new, so I guess I should be used to that by now.
If I can focus on other things, like the Habs being amazing and your beautiful smile, I should be fine.
Buy a few books
Finished The Library Trilogy…first and second book were a lot better than the third. Kind of stumbled to the finish line, but still very well written and interesting.

ParticipantFriegebomb!
Marner to Vegas ….working on trade with Leafs to get rights.
Maybe just a pick next year ….Roy or Howden wouldn’t suck. Something bigger …Karlsson coming this way?
Maybe a 3rd so they can sign him to an 8 year deal and then trade him 3 years from now.
