Well, expect the unexpected with HuGo.

I like the Zachary Bolduc trade, I am fine with sending out Mailloux (who I do not think had a place on the team with Dobson’s arrival). They sold high on him and got a good / interesting return.

I did expect some players to be moved out (Matheson, maybe Laine) looking to get more help on the second line. Maybe when team were shutout of the players they tried to get in UFA will circle back around to the Habs to fill their needs.

Overall, we got the unexpected, but I think they are far from done.

Bolduc can / has played center, not sure if he is another realistic option.

Not very much. He is a winger in the NHL. He is a pain in the ass and likes to stir the shit as it were.

    JD 2.0.

    LOL.

We have Suzuki Dach Newhook Evans and kapanen if Dach can get his head out of his ass it’s not bad. I just don’t trust Laine to complete the top6 but Bolduc may have that potential.

Dach just needs to stay healthy.

    Ideally, Laine gets traded.

They need more skills in that top 6, but sure.
And its looking more and more like Dach will be the 2C to start the season.

Asking price for top 6 centermen must be through the roof because MANY teams are looking for one.
Even Dvorak got a big contract with Philly … and he’s not close to being a top 6.

Yeah, Zach Bolduc was a pleasant surprise. Lots of upside.

I think trading for a top 6, to your point, is too expensive.

Granlund is still out there, but I think the Habs need to ditch some contacts / money first. They are already over the cap by a few million (likely trade Price Sept 1st though).

    Is Granlund a hand yet?

I believe he has 2 of them.

probably yes, but still what the big club needs. grit on the 4th, cup winner, ti-gars de chez nous… like I said, good move

I’ve been looking into that Zac Bolduc dude … and I really like what I see.

The kid is a good skater, has a good shot and is not afraid to go into the dirty areas … “il a du chien dans le nez“.
Only 22 years old so the best is still to come probably … looks like HuGo & Cie know exactly where they’re going with this team.

Seems like a nice replacement for Mr. Emile that we sent to NYI.

    DANG NABBIT!

Logan Mailloux is being traded to STL…this is not a Kyrou deal…working on full move

    For Zach Bolduc

He scored 13 goals and 18 points in his final 24 games after beginning the season struggling to stay in the lineup.

Scouting reports say good shot, can play PP (7 goals), decent defensively (and getting better), can block shots, uses his body a bit. Seems a little prone to giving the puck away, at times.

Solid replacement for Heineman, maybe even better offensively, but perhaps not as good at using his body/defensively.

The Canadiens have agreed to terms on one-year, two-way contracts with forward Alex Belzile and defenseman Nate Clurman.

    FINALLY, brining him home!

    yep, another good move

Replacing some vets that have left Laval with known players.

Sources say #GoHabsGo have signed goalie Kaapo Kahkonen.

remains to see if he’ll backup Monty or Fowler

I suspect Dobes and Foler in Laval next year.
