Maybe.. it’s not like Newhook is great at faceoffs.
But I feel those 3 play the game at a similar pace. Dach is slow and Laine is extra slow, doesn’t fit with Demidov.
I’d qualify Dach’s skating abilities more as being “average”, but I get what you’re saying.
I want to see what a Bolduc – Newhook – Demidov line could do.
he probably doesn’t have enough experience at center but I’d feel like switching Bolduc with Newhook in that case…

dommage que Monahan ne soit plus ici en passant, je sais qu’il est souvent blessé mais il a eu une bonne saison l’an dernier à Colombus.
oui c’est clair qu’avoir un Monahan dans le lineup en ce moment serait plus qu’intéressant.
tk on va voir comment l’équipe va se débrouiller en début de saison avec les éléments qu’ils ont présentement, ça va peut-être avoir de l’allure pareil, sait-on jamais..
Kapanen, Beck or Evans are not the solution for that spot at C for the 2nd line.
If healthy it will be Dach to start the season, if not, I expect Newhook to play that role.
Maybe they might be able to do a trade at the end of 2025.
Too bad Hage is not ready yet.
for sure, but I’m guessing Hughes is still inquiring here and there to see if there’s a potential trade to be made, after a few weeks in the season there might be a team or two that will be willing to make a deal…

I agree that Newhook on the wing might be best for him, that way he’ll be able to utilize his speed a bit more, but Dach will probably get a legit chance at center for a few games, as he should.

I wouldn’t sign him on a long-term deal or for 8M per again for sure but if I could keep him somehow as a PP specialist I wouldn’t mind.
my point is, there aren’t a ton of players around the league that have the kind of shot he has, and just for that he’ll get a contract somewhere guaranteed.
would you give him a new contract?
