This idea doesn’t make sense that since everyone was told he wasn’t resigning the price went down. If no one knew we weren’t resigning him no one would trade for him… what am I missing ? How do you trade someone that no one knows is available? More likely, if the letter never went out teams would be calling Drury to check in on Panarin since we’re awful and he’s an expiring contract. The same result

Do we think Drury was like “nah I’m not gonna ask for a 1st?” Or do we think LA said “take it or leave it. We will just sign him in the offseason”. Like come on guys. I’m the number 1 drury hater. He sucks shit. I just don’t know what you think he should have done differently outside of waiting til the real trade deadline, which could backfire too

I will judge him by Trocheck, who we cannot afford to keep due to how much he could fetch us in a trade. He’s got term and only a modified NTC

If we get to the seasons end and no other major roster players have been moved it’s an abject failure

The situation was Panarin only wanted LAK. The first would’ve made this feel good but we had no leverage. Drury could’ve waited I guess. I hate Drury but idk what else could’ve been done
