Another exciting Vegas game tonight, ended in double OT with Marner doing all the little things to help his team win the crucial Game 5, apparently a thing he has never done and can never do.
First, he set a perfect screen in front of the net, you know that place where retards claim he never goes, to help Theodore score in the 2nd period. No assist but crucial.
Then, in another clutch moment, less than a minute left in the game, makes a perfect give and go play with Theodore that most players couldn’t make at the blueline to help keep the zone and then create the game tying goal. No credit with an assist but a valuable play that retards won’t notice because they only check the boxscore.
And to cap it all off, Marner did some great work along the boards, you know that dirty area of the ice he never goes to, to get the puck to set-up a short-handed double OT goal in Game 5.
You have to actually watch the game and understand it to realize how valuable Marner really is. Too bad Toronto is too retarded to know it.

PP was already doing well with Matthews (since they brought in Sullivan). They have continued to do so even without him. So good job Steve!!!!. I don’t care how many are helping Steve. Steve Sullivan is not running the PP by himself dipshit. Since he was hired, the PP has been done by committee, which means, at best, he’s running 33.3% of it. His PP on the Marlies was piss poor when he was running it solo. With the Leafs, he hasn’t been the sole reason for improvement. As I’ve told you numerous times, and you’re too retarded to understand it, the Leafs PP improvement is an addition by subtraction. By removing Savard, the Leafs immediately improved, regardless of who replaced him.
Also, while the Leafs PP% has been strong, their total PP goals is middle of the pack. If you’ve been watching the games, you’ll realize there are long stretches of games where the Leafs PP gets nothing. Then they have a big game like vs Anaheim because they decided to be motivated for one game. Then disappear again. Much like the rest of this team, the Leafs PP has been wickedly disjointed and inconsistent. A lot of the time, they’re scoring PP goals because of individual efforts and dumb luck and not because their system actually works. In short, it’s unsustainable and like the rest of the team, needs a major overhaul.

Wrong. Tavares destroyed this team with his first contract. His latest contract saves cap space but his play on the ice hurts the team just like his dog shit display in the playoffs year after year hurt the team. -25 is a fact. He has always sucked defensively and his inability to play at both ends of the ice is a big reason why this team lost games and missed the playoffs. He could play for free and he would still lose games for this team.
Lack of heart comes from leadership which includes Tavares. You want to talk soft? Tavares is soft. Nylander is soft. Matthews is soft. Injuries is a bullshit excuse, Vegas has way more injuries than the Leafs. The Leafs had plenty of injuries last year and they were still 1st in the division. Matthews was playing at 50% and Marner carried the team.

We can argue with one another until eternity arrives. The big takeaway has to do with trying to win a Cup and overpaying for retread talent. We gave Treliving a chance to make the moves that Dubas couldn’t and he squandered too much of our farm system and draft capital. It was Dubas that made the mess by overpaying players on their future production and when they failed to deliver, the team was boxed in with overvalued contracts. I don’t like the idea of having a total rebuild but we may have no choice. Tavares isn’t getting any younger. Rielly is burnt toast and needs to be sent to another team or Robidas Island. Our only true assets are in goal. Our defense is old, but can still defend when healthy, but our forwards are the drag on this team. Matthews and Nylander are only a couple of years away from their 30’s and the team must cash out on them. If the deals can be done for younger talent and draft picks, they have to trade them. Yes, it will hurt, but doing a 15 year rebuild like Buffalo will be devastating. I won’t live long enough to see them win one more Cup. I keep hounding on bringing in the Hunter’s, but we’ve tried other routes and it’s been dismal. At least the Hunter’s never played in Toronto and their success in Junior Hockey, with the Knights, should be a breath of fresh air. I’d love to see McKenna as a Leaf, because he’s talented and has leadership skills that do not exist on today’s Leafs. We’re stuck with Tavares and Knies is the only bonafide young player that we have right now. Cowan is good, but is he a top line forward? I say no, but he could be a good second line winger. After that, Danford is the only NHL calibre player we have in the system. It’s a sinkhole right now with this team. Nylander and Matthews being traded will be the only salvation that this team can hope for, if they make the right trades. Mark Hunter….you’re on the clock is what we should hear at this year’s draft.
No doubt Dale Hunter is an excellent coach. Even in down years his London Knight teams show discipline in playing their system and the players stick up for each other. I do have my doubts he would entertain the thought of coaching the Leafs.
– He is 65 years old and only about 150 wins away from being the all time win leader in the CHL. I strongly believe that besides championships that is his main hockey goal
– He coached in the NHL for a part season and was very successful yet left to go back to the team he owns. I do not think he really cares about coaching in the NHL because he has never attempted to return.

They also lost to VGK twice and since they’re “only” in the playoffs because they play weak teams so we’ll include them in the list.
Now imagine a Leafs team that wins those games. That’s 17 games they lost against “bad” teams. Even if they won only 10 of those games (or gained 20 points), that’s the difference between being dead last in the division and being 1st in the division.
Just a reminder, Marner had 7 GWGs last year. That’s not even his primary skill. He probably had at least another 7 GWG assists. It’s too bad retards in the fanbase, the media and management ran him out the door. Growing up I always heard stories about how Harold Ballard ruined the franchise. Marner would be #1 on the Leafs in assists, PP points and total points. Matthews also wouldn’t have a career worst 27 goals and 53 points either.
