Leafs trade Ersson to Ottawa for a 5th round pick. If the Leafs end up with shit goaltending, it won’t matter what else they do.
Nichushkin to the CBJ for a 2nd, 3rd and a 5th. That type of size is what the Leafs still need more of. Would have been nice to see them flip Maccelli and Robertson for the draft capital to acquire Nichushkin.
Seattle tried to pay Robertson 15 million a year and he said no. Don’t blame him. Seattle is a shithole.
Carolina trying to get Hellebuyck. That’s gotta be a three way battle between Florida, Vegas and Carolina. That’d be a huge advantage for any one of those three teams. It also seems that Andersen is going to become a UFA if Carolina is looking to upgrade their goaltending. Leafs being stuck with only Stolarz and rookies, maybe bringing Andersen back a cheap 1 year deal would be a good insurance contract.

When this team fails, which it will, they’ll be forced to trade Matthews. After Matthews is gone, the rest will flee the sinking ship.

Flames looking for a 2nd for Zary. Signed for two more years at 3.75 AAV. I’d rather have him than Maccelli or Robertson. If the Leafs could flip one of those two for a 2nd and use that 2nd for Zary, the Leafs would be better off.
Not that big but a very good skater, good passer, could be a decent option on the wing in the top-six or opposite Cowan on the 3rd line. Could play C but sucks at FOs so that would have to improve.
